Working with Andy was incredible. From our first phone interview to the dinner we had to discuss our wedding music, Andy was professional, attentive and FUN. It felt like we were talking with an old friend. Andy worked very closely with us to find the perfect songs for our processional and recessional. After the wedding, several people contacted us to find out what songs they were because they loved them so much. He also worked with us on the entire flow of the evening, and often spoke with our venue and audio vendor to make sure everything went perfectly. Andy's knowledge of music is extensive -- I love Cher and my fiance loves hard rock. None of our musical taste cross over. And yet somehow Andy managed to find music that worked perfectly for both of us and all of our guests. The dance floor was always packed. People who NEVER dance were cutting a rug :) Additionally, Andy isn't the kind of DJ who needs attention on him. He only came on the mic when necessary. Also, don't expect him to play the Chicken Dance or Electric Slide -- he only plays good music! We both highly recommend Andy. He made our night really special.

Andy was professional and supremely confidence-inspiring from the start. His work was top-notch.

We had an outdoor wedding on the hottest day of the year. Despite the sweltering temperatures, Andy packed the dance floor for hours on end. We had never seen so many people let themselves go and party like there's no tomorrow! This was impressive, but not a surprise -- Andy won our confidence early in the wedding planning with his careful listening, unparalleled musical knowledge, and calm easy-going professional attitude. Andy thought of everything and steered our party exactly as we had hoped. Too bad you only get married once -- we would love to do it all over again with him!

I am so happy that we found Andy and hired him to be our wedding dj. We were looking for a dj who: -would work around our taste in music -had the experience to suggest songs that would keep the party going and veto any weird obscure songs that we like but would kill a party -"got" us and what our friends and family were about -didn't have a cheesy "shtick" and would not play the electric slide or macarena Andy was all of that and more! From our first phone conversation I could tell that he was organized and professional but also just awesome and a fun person to talk to. When we had our first meeting, 85% of the time was spent talking and bs'ing like friends and then the other 15% we were trying to stay focused on the music. I had no doubt that everything would be fine, we had worked out a list of "definites" and the rest we left in Andy's hands. Everything went beyond perfectly. At one point in the night my mother-in-law said, "I didn't know you guys had such great taste in music!" I said, "We don't, but our DJ does!" He played the music that we loved, and the music that we didn't even know we loved. Everyone kept saying how awesome he was and it really made our night fun and special. It wouldn't have been the same if we didn't choose him as our DJ. I HIGHLY recommend Gotham DJ!

Andy was absolutely super to work with at all levels. We had to plan our wedding long-distance from Florida and we were very concerned about how to pull it off while being out of town. We were even more concerned because we had definitely ideas in terms of music and the atmosphere we were trying to create. Andy was a total pro and helped guide us through the sequence of the event and made sure that our musical tastes were properly represented at the same time. Great knowledge of music and very easy to work with - we highly recommend Andy for your wedding!

Most importantly, Andy provided the music that got the party going and did not stop until the hotel made us stop. The party was bouncing literally the entire night. He is a consummate professional, willing to work on the musical setlist with you one on one as much or as little as you want. He is not some generic, run of the mill DJ - he will customize your big night exactly the way you want, all while giving you honest, experienced opinions about what will and will not work for your specific party. Many people came up to us after the wedding to compliment us about our music.

Andy DJ'ed our wedding reception at the Central Park Boathouse in October of 2010. He was SO amazing- easy to work with and had great ideas and feedback for how to make our evening flow better. He is a pro with lots of experience- he took our party from a classy sit-down dinner to an incredible dance party with ease. Our guests were so happy with his music choices- and we couldn't have had a better evening. On top of ALL that- Andy is a fantastically nice guy. You'll enjoy speaking to him and planning your big day- and you'll love the service he provides.

Music was always going to be a vitally important part of our wedding, and something we were not prepared to compromise on. In fact, when we found Andy he actually interviewed us before he took the job on, and that sent all the right signals with regard to his professionalism and approach. He worked with us on the feeling we were looking for, and even indulged my British routes with an integration of Brit pop classics. But, at the same time we encouraged him to do his thing. Our friends partied from first song til the last, and many asked for the set list. Andy nailed the vibe, the dance-floor was never empty, and everyone left with huge smiles. A pleasure to work with, we could not recommend him highly enough!

Andy is 100% awesome. We wanted someone who wouldn't have the awful DJ patter, who wouldn't play embarrassing line-dancing songs, who didn't have some kind of signage ("Check out Fist-PumpDJ.com for your next killer party!" or whatever)...generally someone who wouldn't be embarrassing. And who could play a few of our favorite indie-rock songs without bringing the party to a screetching halt. :) Andy killlllled it. He was so much fun to work with, and really got our music tastes and was able to balance what we wanted with songs that people love dancing to. Everyone was on the dance floor the whole night, and having a great time! My 9-year-old cousin somehow knows how to breakdance now, too. Andy is a little on the expensive side because he has an amazing pedigree (he's played at trendy Manhattan clubs, and spun for huuuge clients) and because he's completely awesome and worth it. He worked with our budget, and I was happy to pay a little bit more for him because I trusted him 100% from our first meeting. HIGHLY recommended, especially for people who don't want a cookie-cutter wedding DJ, but someone who knows how to play fun, good, dance-y songs and spin your personality into the mix as well.
