I had a fantastic wedding at Bayard's. Countless guests commented on how unique the space was (even for NYC) and how amazing the food was (which is a rarity for weddings). I did, however, have a fairly negative experience with the event coordinator who was quite immature and condescending. Her first response to most of my requests (albeit, she was always quick to respond to emails and calls) was an eye roll followed with a “trust me, I’ve done a million of these.” Yet in critical moments, like the floor planning, she made last-minute changes after realizing she got it wrong (she added an extra room that she had earlier told me, quite adamantly, was not needed due to the size of my wedding). This would have been OK had I been allowed to stop by to evaluate the changes in person (all I needed was 15 minutes, any time of day), but she was not at all accommodating and made me wait 2 weeks to do so (and when we did show up, kept repeating her mantra, “don’t worry, we know what we’re doing.”). There were other unacceptable moments such as when she called my mother a “nervous nelly” and repeatedly instructed us to not show up any earlier than 5PM for a 7PM wedding (while we were doing some of the decorating ourselves, as well as taking family photos there). I was displeased for having been put in a position where I feared she would screw up my wedding if I were to assert myself and demand the better service my family deserved. This left such a bad taste in my mouth because everyone else we dealt with (from the maitre-d to the coat check attendant) was OUTSTANDING (including the managers, who were very accommodating when we wanted to make some changes to the bar and menu) - I cannot emphasize this enough. This is why I am still highly recommending Bayard's, but I think it is worth being aware of the whole situation.

Words cannot express how thrilled we were with our wedding. Choosing Bayard's was the single best vendor decision I made. Rachael and her team were extremely professional and responsive. People have been raving about the food and how unique the space was. Many people have commented that it was the best wedding they've been to. We also felt that it was an excellent value for the price, given the location and the quality of food. Highly recommended!!

Once again, Bayards is related to the India House so the food came with the event space. It was amazing. People are still raving about it. it was like a gourmet meal at a fancy restaurant. Can't say enough good things!

As a photographer since 1998. I must say that from a photographers view this venue is historical, beautiful and great for images. The staff is friendly and professional making both the couple and vendors happy. See my latest photos from Bayards at www.erinsummerstudio.com

We were planning on doing an outdoor ceremony with a reception in Tribeca, and I was actually looking for a backup ceremony venue when I found Bayards. I made an appointment with Rachael and walked over to the venue (which is 2 blocks from my house) Rachael is the sweetest person ever and was so professional that 2 months before the wedding we cancelled all of our previous plans and had the ceremony and reception at Bayards. This was the best decision we could have made: Venue: The venue was PHENOMENAL and we had the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception on the second floor. It was the perfect size for our 60 guests but could have easily held more. The suites for the bride and groom were so large we should have thrown a pre-party in them! Food: The food was FANTASTIC. We had a appetizers during the cocktail hour and a brunch reception. People are still telling me how good the food was. We also had a limited open bar (red, white, champagne, beer, coffee, tea, soft drinks) The cake was so good that we ate the top tier when we took it home. I know we're not supposed to, but we couldn't help it! Staff: This is where they really shine. Rachael and Ramon were so helpful it was almost inhuman! We were really having a DIY wedding, but the staff put together my centerpieces and my party favors. They even did all of the decorating. All I had to do was show up, get dressed and get married. It really doesn't get any better than that. Price: I'm not going to tell you how much it was, but it is VERY affordable. For the price, quality and location, I really don't know how anyone could get married anywhere else. We will definitely be having future events here and we're so thankful to the staff at Bayards for making our wedding one that people are STILL talking about!

We choose Bayard's because they offered you all the ease of a catering hall without being a wedding factory. What we got was a top knotch event that my guests continue to talk about. It was literarily the happiest day of my life thanks to the folks at Bayards: Reasons why they blew my mind: 1. Rachel is amazing! She worked with us on EVERYTHING! We were WAY over capacity and she listened to us day in and day out, and eventually helped us create a floor plan that fit everyone. Also, my family drove me INSANE with wild demands and guest. Rachal helped me deal with ALL of it. We loved her so much, we have a professional photo with her because without her that day would have been a nightmare. One of my favorite things Rachael did: Jus five seconds after we got married, she whisked my hubby and I away to enjoy ten solid minutes of solitude and cocktail hours goodies in private so we could take in and share the most special of moments in my entire life. 2. THE FOOD IS AMAZING My family is italian and we knew we had to wow them with the food. Everyone had clean plates, from cocktail hour to dessert. 3. THE DECOR for THAT PRICE? Bayard's looks like it cost a million dollars. For cheaper than a catering hall, you get the amazing setting in the heart of manhattan, wonderful food, and wonderful staff. Anyone that gets married at Bayards has made a great choice!

Bayard's (The India House) is absolutely amazing. The food, the historic building, Rachael, Andre (the maitre d'), the rest of the staff - everything was wonderful. Rachael was such a pleasure to work with, always willing to work with you and figure out the most reasonable answer. She understands the stresses of planning a wedding and really tries to ease the pains. On the day of Andre was there the entire night - working with us and our parents to make sure we had everything we need and were having a good time. We used the entire building - started on the first floor for cocktail hour, moved to the second floor for a sit down dinner and finished on the third floor with dessert and dancing. All of our guests are still talking about how cool the venue was and our guests who live in NYC are trying to figure out what event they can hold there next. Also, I have heard countless times how wonderful the food was - particularly the hors d'oeuvres. Overall a wonderful experience, I really can't say enough about it - I would recommend to everyone!

I'm so glad I chose Bayard's. Rachael was so easy to work with and she was incredibly flexible and patient with us during the whole process. The value for this place with the quality of food and service is totally worth it. Everything went so smoothly. The fact that I didn't have to worry about a cake was also a plus. Bayard's has a nautical asian theme which was a hit with my husband's family :)

The vision for my wedding was Old New York and India House made that vision come alive. Simply an amazing and beautiful venue with an incredibly location. The staff was very professional and made us feel like we had nothing to worry about. Rachael was very responsive to all our questions and concerns. The food was DELICIOUS. Everyone at the wedding loved their dishes. We had no complaints whatsoever. HIGHLY recommended.

Even when our primary contact was away on vacation, everyone else picked up right where she left off - seamlessly. They were willing to work with us to maximize our budget. Everyone was very nice and the venue was very elegant.

Amazing venue. The staff made you feel that you had nothing to worry about. We paid for our ceremony room and reception but was given access to the whole building! It was an added bonus. We wish we said something about taking a plate of food home since we didnt really get a chance to eat, but over all... 5 star food! 5 star professional staff, and the an amazing location in Manhattan. Its classy, metropolitan, and modern...with a hint of old NY.

We had our ceremony and reception at Bayard's. We had the best experience with Bayard's as our wedding venue, I wouldn't have changed a thing. Doris Jiminez, and the whole team at Bayard's were wonderful to us and provided us with the most amazing customized service for a perfect day. Our wedding day felt so special by and large because of the Bayard's events team. They worked with every one of our needs and catered to even the most minute detail and desire. The food was delicious, especially our wedding cake that was provided in our package from Fianancier patisserie. Our guests all complimented us on the unique and elegant decor and amazing service. We had an intimate wedding with 65 guests and everyone told us it was a more beautiful wedding than any big, fussy wedding they'd been to. We loved Bayard's and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique elegant venue with an amazing team to make your day extraordinarily special!

Gorgeous location with a very attentive staff. I chose Bayard's for my reception. The manager of my wedding made sure everything was perfect. We were able to use as many rooms as we wanted, and the food was excellent. Picking the cake was a breeze, since it is all done together with the food. The reception ran itself, and I was able to fully enjoy the wedding!
