Cipriani 42nd Street- where to begin!! We had a perfect wedding at Cipriani 42nd street, which is an absolutely beautiful space- a historic bank building. We wanted our wedding to be "classic new york," and Cipriani 42nd offers that in an absolutely jaw-dropping room, with impeccible service, and food that is out of this world. The venue's Captain, Tony, and his servers/team the day-of the wedding deserve 5 stars all around. Guests told me, their wine glasses would never be less than half-full, because the wait staff was so attentive and making sure everyone had everything they needed at all times. And the FOOD!!! Oh my- it was absolutely out-of-this-world No one could believe the kitchen could crank out that caliber food for 300 people. The portions of the entrees (massive steaks and a beautiful piece of Chilean Sea Bass) were unbelievable. Guests were already full from the incredible and bountiful cocktail hour. They also didn't charge a separate fee for the Ceremony, which we had there, like many of the NYC venues I looked at did. And the ceremony there looked like a beautiful fairytale. They provide 2 beautiful suites in which the bride and/or groom can get ready in, and also a bridal assistant for the day-of, Clara, who was so attentive and lovely. Anytime I needed anything- like my dress steamed or pinned, or one of their fabulous Bellini's, she was there. Craig Beckerle who was my contact there and who I booked the contract with was always extremely helpful, responsive and professional always. He was there for whatever I needed from the time I booked the venue to til after the wedding was over. He's very calm, and worked with us to make sure we had the best menu, service, and flow of the event. My one small criticism- they provided a vendor-list that I wasn't crazy about- but they were totally open to me bringing in whatever vendors I wanted to work with. So I did have to do a bit more homework in the planning, but ultimately it paid off. I had some concerns bc I knew that several guests had been to this venue before for benefits, corporate events, etc- but given the absolutely top-notch level of service and the quality of the food/drinks, the jaw-dropping beauty of the venue, and the professionalism- I would do my wedding again here in a heartbeat and would recommend it highly! Can't think of many venues that could be better.
