Gary was such a pleasure to work with, professional, organized, and completely on top of things. He had amazing suggestions, but wasn't pushy in the least. He also has zero cheese factor (no jock jam/smoke machine intros here), which we appreciated. Great value, great references, cool guy, what more do you need?

We hired DJ Gaza (Gary Hoffman) of 74 Events to DJ our wedding on October 26, 2012 and it was one of the best decisions we made for the whole event! We didn't want a cheesy DJ who was going to be on the microphone all night, making guests feel pressured to laugh at corny jokes or do the chicken dance. After reading all the reviews for DJ Gaza, we were already 95% sure we were going with him. After about 5 minutes into our first meeting with him, it was a done deal. Beyond being an incredible DJ, he is SO organized and business savvy, which really put us as ease during the planning stages. He really listens to what you want and knows what works and what doesn't, and he's not shy about giving you his opinion because he really cares not only about making sure you get what you want, but also that your guests have a great time. He knows how to read a crowd for sure...our dance floor was packed the whole night, everyone had a blast and we didn't have to worry about a thing. Rob Kelley dj'ed our October 2012 wedding at the de Seversky Mansion in Long Island. We cannot say enough about the great job DJ Gaza and Rob did for us. As an initial comment, DJ Gaza and Rob carried themselves very professionally and took their role for our wedding very seriously throughout the entire process. The two guided us through every step of the scheduling and music for our event. DJ Gaza and Rob were very attentive to our tastes and requests and receptive to all of our e-mails and questions. As to the actual event, Rob provided music for our cocktail hour and reception. Our wedding guests raved about the quality and tastefulness of the music and mc'ing. The dance floor was constantly filled during the reception. From the hora to the parent dances, Rob worked and adapted to the crowd perfectly to keep the party flowing all night. We are very happy with how great the wedding went, which was due in great part to the services of our vendors, including Rob and DJ Gaza. We recommend them highly to couples seeking high quality dj's at reasonable prices.

We had the pleasure of working with DJ Rob Kelley through DJ Gaza. He really knows how to keep everyone on the dance floor...a ton of my guests told me he was the best DJ they've heard! He's very professional and is able to read the crowd easily. My husband's mom wanted to hear a bit more motown toward the end of the night, and he transitioned into it perfectly! Duane Harriott of DJ Gaza/74 Events deejayed our wedding in Manhattan and did an amazing job. I can't recommend him more highly. He read the crowd really well, and so many of our guests complimented us on the music and said Duane's taste was "impeccable." We had quite a few music buffs among our friends, and one loved the music so much that he said he wanted us to get married every weekend! We gave Duane a fairly extensive list of songs to choose from, but also gave him discretion in choosing which ones to play and when. He kept the dance floor packed throughout the night and was an extremely resourceful and talented DJ. He was also a great MC, was able to pronounce difficult names correctly, and timed/cued all of the music and entrances perfectly. Our guests enjoyed the music so much that many of them asked me for the playlist at the end of the night.

We have nothing but great things to say about DJ Gaza and Rob Kelley. We mostly interacted with DJ Gaza leading up to the event and he was extremly organized. Rob was phenomenal on the day of, he had our dance floor going for 3+ hours and he worked well with the drummer we hired to keep up the energy. He also was wonderful with our toasts and making sure the evening transitioned well between speeches to music etc. Rob had tons of compliments after the wedding from our guests. We recommend both DJ Gaza and Rob Kelley for your big day!

If you are considering DJ Gaza for your wedding, I have to words for you. DO IT!!! People are constantly telling me how amazing our DJ was. First let me start by saying that we planned our wedding from overseas, so i didn't meet Gary until the day of the wedding. I interviewed a few DJs over the phone and went with my gut feeling when I chose Gary. I just KNEW he was the perfect DJ for us. Despite never meeting in person, Gary did everything perfectly. We exchange several emails, and had two conference calls, in that time he made sure he gathered all the information he required to make sure our wedding day was exactly the way we wanted it. THe day of the wedding my family surprised us with a belly dancer, this required Gary to have to make some last minute adjustments and get the belly dancers music set up. The friend who dealt with Gary to get the music portion sorted out, said he was fantastic! He was extremely cooperative and helpful in making sure the right music was played. My husband and I have different music types, but Gary made sure he represented both of our musical tastes throughout the wedding. He kept the crowd moving the whole night long! The other compliments I received about Gary were , he was so well dressed that he looked like a guest (some people have seen DJs show up in jeans and a tshirt). I realize what a nice touch it is that he was nicely dressed since he is in the backdrop of some of our pics. Also everyone loved how he played all sorts of music and kept everyone going. Last but not least, he didn't "talk over" the whole time... which means we heard the music, not the DJs voice :) THank you DJ Gaza for being a part of making our wedding day as perfect as it was !!!

Gary (DJ Gaza) was unavailable for our date, so we worked with DJ Rob Kelly. We were super excited about their level of professionalism, high music IQ, and experience. These guys know their music. They had an extensive questionnaire for us to fill out, detailing everything about our event, our musical tastes, and must-have songs. We had two meetings with them where we covered absolutely everything, and received a few great recommendations from Gary and Rob about some song selections, timing, and party flow (they were a part of the sound throughout the whole wedding from ceremony to reception). They had a lot of really great advice about song selections and timing of reception events like cake cutting, bouquet toss, hava nagila dance, etc. They know weddings backwards and forwards. Day-of, Rob was amazing. He took over the MC-ing of the toasts during dinner (which we weren't even expecting him to do!), kept things running smoothly, and was a total pro during set up and breakdown. Our ceremony, dinner, and dance party were all in different spaces, and Rob was able to seamlessly coordinate sound for all the components of our wedding, which was super impressive. The music during our dance party was, for the most part, what we wanted. The only reason we didn't rate a solid 5 out of 5 was that it was super important to us that there be a good balance between pop, indie rock, and parent-friendly classics and slow tunes, which we didn't feel happened. We had discussed this concern during our meetings, so in retrospect, we were a little disappointed that this aspect of the music wasn't addressed. The music was really high energy and young, great for our peers at the wedding, but there were very few slow songs, or songs to get the older generations out on the dance floor. Several of the older guests mentioned that they wished we had more slow songs! That said, the dance party was still a riot, and everyone had a ton of fun!

Jon and I cannot express enough how happy we are with the music at our wedding. With the few meetings we had with Rob and Gary, they immediately saw our vision. They were fun and easy to work with as well as extremely professional. When it came to our wedding day, Rob had the crowd on the dance floor as soon as the music started and had them all dancing until the end of the night. He felt the vibe of our crowd and ran with it and still managed to play everything Jon and I wanted to hear! Our guests cannot stop raving about how good the music was. There is a reason he has perfect reviews - he is amazing! I can't thank Gary enough for his help at making our wedding day awesome. He is so organized, so professional, and really chill to work with. This was good because I was super stressed out and flaky, and he really helped me get my music stuff organized. He is the opposite of a cheesy wedding DJ and keeps things feeling very classy. People were on the dance floor all night and afterwards I had guests tell me he was the best wedding DJ they encountered. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and I will be recommending him a million times over!

We booked with 74 Events and Rob Kelley was our DJ for the evening. We had our outdoor ceremony and reception at Snug Harbor in Staten Island. Gary the owner was very professional and easy to work with. He promptly answered any questions that we had leading up to the event. Rob is also very professional and friendly. He arrived early to setup and prior to the reception double checked the pronunciation of the bridal party's names before the grand entrance. There were no cheesy jokes/terrible announcements. He was right on target with the speeches, cake cutting, bouquet and garter tosses. He kept everyone on the dance floor all night and switched to different genres of music with ease. All of our guests commented on what a great DJ he was. We highly recommend using 74 Events for your wedding as you will not be disappointed.

Perfect and more perfect is all I can say about Gary and his team! Gary is professional and very meticulus! We had 3 meetings and we were very confident that our wedding would be perfect because of the detail of his services. He played music for every single guest. Our dance floor was NEVER empty which was what we wanted. We had the party of our lives and so did our guests! He can read the crowd and change it up when necessary. He can also keep them up once they are there. His pricing is unbeatable for the service you are getting! We used him for ceremony and cocktail hour as well! We could not have been happier with our choice!!!

We initially met with Gary (DJ Gaza), who runs the business and handles all of the administrative details. Gary is nice, but he came across as a bit overbearing, telling us that some of our music requests were inappropriate for a wedding and that our plan for the bride/groom introduction wouldn't work. Because Gary was booked for the night, he recommended Phil Quinaz (PQ). As it turned out, we were so glad that Gary was booked because Phil was fantastic! He liked our music and introduction ideas and stuck with them, and they totally worked. He kept our parents and their friends dancing for the first half of the night, and when the time came, he took it to another level with the late-90's hip-hop and pop that we knew would get our friends going. Sure enough, it did. The last two hours of our wedding were a hardcore dance party, and we had numerous friends come up to us and say some variation of "this is the best dance music I've ever heard at a wedding." Phil also handled the secondary aspects of the job with aplomb. We have a family member who was scheduled to give a toast who has a difficult time enunciating due to an illness. Phil was extremely patient, courteous and helpful with this family member, and the toast went off without a hitch. He made announcements without fanfare, and never tried to do anything but make it a great party. He is one of the biggest reasons our wedding was as much fun as it was.

Just book him--- you will definitely be happy. I felt like this was one of the vendors where we really got our money's worth. He is a great value. Professional and really "got" what we were going for and what music we are into. I had multiple people tell me they'd never been to a wedding where so much dancing had taken place and I really truly believe it was due to the music and the way he mixed it all together.

As anyone planning a wedding has experienced - or will experience soon enough - it is no small feat. This is what makes Gary and 74 Events so great: by far the most professional, level-headed, understanding and explanatory of all our various wedding vendors. Gary, and our DJ, Lindsey, made the entire process so simple and enjoyable. And did I mention the music itself?! Our special night would not have been the same if it weren't for Lindsey spinning just the right tune at just the right time, striking the right balance between songs that are special to us and those that get the party going. Rob Kelley was our DJ and he was awesome! The whole night was a big party thanks to all the fun music he played. The owner Gary was wonderful. If anyone gets to the point of corresponding with DJ Gaza to DJ their wedding, I am sure they as impressed as we were with Gary's organizational skills and responsiveness. Our subsequent meeting with him sealed the deal based on how he conducted the meeting alone - he clearly knew his stuff and was so thorough that we didn't have any questions (and I always have questions). We recently had the great pleasure of having Rob Kelley DJ our September 17, 2011 wedding (DJ Gaza was already booked) here in NYC and he was just so so good. Our priorities for our wedding were good food, plentiful drinks and fantastic music. Rob did the ceremony and reception music and all the announcements and really delivered. We did our dances with our parents first then, immediately after those, Rob opened the dance floor and literally from that first dance song to the very last dance the dance floor was full - with young and old guests. We were amazed. In the days that followed the wedding, more than any other aspect, our guests complimented the DJ for playing the best music ever at a wedding. In addition to our local guests, we had a lot of guests from Ireland and Rob kept both on the dancefloor even for the traditional irish songs. Rob transitioned into all different genres so smoothly and fielded tons of song requests with an eye to what was going on on the dance floor and past discussions we had had about what we did and didn't want played. We couldn't say enough good things about Rob - he is a giant of a DJ (both in literal height and ability!), is very professional and has such a nice disposition - you should book him fast and never look back!

We contacted DJ Gaza (Gary) about DJing our wedding after reading lots of positive reviews online. While Gary himself was not available on our date, he recommended DJ PQ (Phil) for us and provided some background info and testimonials. We met with both Gary and Phil and were very impressed by their responsiveness, thoroughness, and obvious enthusiasm for their jobs. I am a super-organized person and it was great to have a vendor who was just as OCD as me! It was an easy decision to hire them. We met with Gary and Phil one more time shortly before the wedding to talk through the timings of the day, discuss our song selections and have them answer any additional questions we had. We left that meeting extremely confident that everything was going to run smoothly on the day – and so it did. Phil was an excellent DJ and MC, arriving and getting set up early, keeping us advised of what was coming up next and most importantly keeping the dancefloor full all night! He was great at incorporating our requests along with his own choices; he made us feel like we were throwing a cool party for our friends, while also being clear, understanding, and accessible to the older folks. We got lots of compliments on the music from our guests and some even asked for his contact details for future events. Highly recommended!

Gary was awesome! A very laid-back personality and was great at keeping the evening flowing right along. He was awesome at playing music we both enjoyed and the dance floor was full all night long! Gary was not only an amazing DJ, but he also acted as a great aid throughout the night of our wedding. Gary single-handedly did the music for our outdoor ceremony, indoor cocktail hour, and indoor reception. He seamlessly transitioned from place to place as if he had a team of engineers and DJs helping him, but somehow he did it all on his own. Beyond just handling the music, Gary made sure to keep our wedding on track. He would check in with me and my husband at key moments (before the ceremony, before speeches, before the bouquet toss) and give us a rundown of how that next event would transition into the next event. He made everything about our wedding day easier. On top of being a great help, Gary played the best selection of music. He got everyone on the dance floor, and kept them out there. Even though our venue was extremely hot and stuffy by the end of the night no one wanted to take a break from the amazing music and dancing. Gary did all of this while also being the nicest and calmest person at the whole wedding. He was a pleasure to work with.

Talk about bringing the party! Gary was booked for my day, but recommended the equally wonderful and amazing DJ PQ. We wanted a full on dance party at our wedding and PQ definitely delivered. He played a great range that made everyone come to the dance floor. Gary organized the logistics along the way and I always felt he was extremely thorough and thoughtful. From the ceremony to cocktail hour to reception, I felt everything was properly handled. We had such a wonderful time and the music was a large part in that. We were very specific with our requests and they were able to handle that which is important.

I wasn't sure what to expect when meeting with a DJ, but Gary and Duane were better than we could ever ask for! From the very first meeting we knew that Gary had an absolute passion for his business and that he clearly only works with the like minded. Every meeting and correspondence with Gary left us feeling so comfortable and ready to get the party started! His professionalism was above and beyond! The actual DJ for our wedding was Duane Harriot. Our goal for our reception was for people to eat and then dance the night away. The best way to paint the picture of how amazing he was is this: my husband's 88 year old grandfather barely left the dance floor! Not only that, but people couldn't just limit themselves to dancing on the actual dance floor...no...they danced all over the venue. It was great! Duane also made announcement (cake cutting, etc) and he was far from the typical annoying DJ announcer. He was utterly professional while still having a good time himself. He was awesome! If NYC wasn't so noisy I would shout their praises from the rooftops!!! ...

Everyone was dancing all night and kept commenting on how fun the music was. My husband is from Argentina, so he had to incorporate a lot of Argentinean music with everything else, and he did such a fantastic job! The transition from ceremony to dinner to dancing was perfect. All the argentineans were very energetic and James kept them moving and throwing up people in the air all night long. I love Gary (DJ Gaza)! He was the best wedding dj we could have ever hoped for. He had our guests dancing all night, including before dinner was served. My guests are still raving about how great the music was all night. He is a real dj. He isn't one of those cheesy wedding djs that doesn't know how to mix and transition music. He is very talented and all of his announcements were tasteful and appropriate. My wedding was exactly what I wanted it to be--a big dance party. Everyone had a great time and I can't thank him enough for his contributions to my special day. On top of his dj talents, he was extremely professional and reliable. We got married on March 26, 2011 in Manhattan, and Rob (who works with Gary Hoffmann aka DJ Gaza) was our DJ. He and Gary were great to work with, and we got many compliments on the DJ from guests. They are very professional, and have a lot of experience with weddings. Rob got the guests dancing while keeping the whole thing classy (no obnoxious DJ talk or anything). They are actually more than just DJ's because they help you with planning/running the day too. Gary and Rob met with us and helped us figure out the order of events of the evening, like when the couple gets announced, when the appetizers get served, when the first dance and speeches happen, etc, along with specific songs/music that will fit each event, which was a huge weight off our shoulders. It was also great that they are very organized and on top of paperwork - I before I even knew it, they took care of insurance papers, figuring where/how to set up their DJ equipment, etc. It was a big difference from a friend's wedding where the DJ was disorganized and the wedding party had to stress about getting him set up on the day-of. FYI our musical preference for the dancing/partying portion of the evening was top40 pop/hip-hop/generally danceable music. At first we were concerned because the music samples they gave us (before we signed with them) weren't what we were looking for, but they asked us to list our favorite song/artists, and Rob got it just right at the wedding. We had such a great time, and we're so glad we went with DJ Gaza!

My wedding took place on this past February 25th, and since then EVERYONE cannot stopped raving about how awesome Gary was. The entire wedding my dance floor was packed, and Gary did a great job at balancing quite a few different musical styles (pop, rock, country, Latin, hip hop, etc.) at our request. Gary has low-key, yet professional attitude about emceeing his events. I was adamant about not having a cheesy, intrusive DJ (we've all been to those weddings where the DJ makes you want to gag) and Gary fit the bill one hundred percent. He kept things moving in a timely and well-orchestrated manner, and kept my fiancee and I well informed about how the evening was progressing and check-in on us several times to make sure we were happy. The entire event running smoothly in no small part to his skills as the evening's emcee. Beyond his work the day of, however, Gary was (by far) one of the most organized vendors I worked with throughout the whole planning process. He responded timely to my multiple (and sometimes insane and/or last minute) requests. We needed karaoke version of "Sweet Child of Mine" two days before the wedding (don't ask) and Gary never broke a sweat and just made it happen. He made suggestions and provided helpful tips during our meetings that helped ensure my husband and I would have a great wedding. In short, he's a gem. Hire him!

My wedding was this past weekend and I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. Gary was super organized and responded to our questions quickly and in an efficient manner. Everyone at the wedding had such a great time because the music was great and he did such a great job feeling the crowd and playing/changing the music accordingly.

Our DJ, Rob from DJ Gaza, did an incredible job at our wedding. The process of preparing for our wedding with Rob and Gary was pleasant, helpful and always reflective of our needs and wants for the event. They listened and attentively made plans to ensure our party sounded and felt like we wanted. The music reflected a range of tastes and eras, sounds and styles, and Rob made it all happen without seeming disjointed. There was an unfortunate emergency during our reception, and Rob sensitively, calmly and helpfully responded to the incident, using his MC duties to help. He also smoothly turned the party back on after things went back to being okay. We are endlessly grateful to Rob for his thoughtful and kind presence and excellent DJ skills. The dance floor was packed for the duration of the night, and everyone is still telling us what an amazing time they had.

We loved working with DJ Gaza (Gary Hoffman) and Constantine, who was our wedding DJ. We decided to go with them because they really impressed us at the initial meeting. Gary was very organized and you could tell he was really a pefectionist. He was very responsive in the weeks leading up to the wedding as we were making our final plans and Con really brought the house down at the wedding - he played just the type of music we were looking for and the dance floor was packed all night. Also, we felt they offered a great price so it was a great value. Would definitely recommend working with them.

My wedding was on October 8th 2010. They don't even need my review. They were awesome.

Gary was UNBELIEVABLE. the most organized, professional DJ ever. this is clearly his passion and he is 100% dedicated to every client. he totally "feels the vibe" of the guests, and I nick-named him the "musical scientist genius". Our guests were dancing ALL night long, and even the bartender said to one of our guests, "You are so lucky, we wish WE were dancing!" Don't think another second, book Gary right now!

We worked with DJ Gaza (Gary Hoffman) and DJ Mandy. We absolutely loved Mandy!!! She really knew how to keep the crowd on the dance floor, which was impressive since our guests ranged from 25 to 80 years old! In fact, the reception was going so well that my husband and I asked if we could extend the party! Mandy was very agreeable to it and continued to keep everyone dancing until the end of the very last song. She was very responsive to all correspondence and arrived at the venue well before the ceremony in order to ensure everything was set up properly. Gary and Mandy actually visited our venue earlier in the week to make sure she was familiar with the acoustics of the place. Weeks after the wedding, some of our guests were still commenting about how great the music was! We highly recommend hiring Mandy for any event!

Our DJ was Rob from DJ Gaza's company. Rob did an amazing job. He kept everyone on the dance floor all night long and only did annoucements we requested. If you are looking for not your typical wedding DJ that will make sure you have a great party as well as a great wedding then these guys are it. Plus, Gary was one of the most professional vendors we worked with, great at communicating and being on top of everything!

One of the best decisions we made was booking Gary. From day one through the wedding, he was extremely professional, knowledgeable, & helpful with not only the music but many other aspects of the wedding. Closer to the event, Gary became my side-wedding coordinator (without asking him). He worked with us to perfect the flow of the wedding and when it came to the actual event, he was far and beyond the best DJ I've ever experienced at a wedding - no cheese-factor whatsoever & the music kept all the guests on the dance floor the entire night. Seriously, contact him! You won't regret it. Promise.

To be honest, I was not happy with my selection of DJ. Leading up to the event was fine. DJ Gaza was very organized and seemed to ask all the questions that made me feel at ease for the wedding. DJ Mikey (part of DJ Gaza's network) was our DJ - and most of the planning we did beforehand was not communicated to him. The sound system was not fit for the outdoor venue - EVERYONE commented how they could NOT hear anything for the ceremony. It was such a shame because our ceremony was all about our families speaking for us. They had prepared speeches and no one could hear anything - they could only see the emotions. I had provided floor plans and dimensions and seating arrangements in advance, but the sound system did not reach more than the first row. I was assured that things would be fine but it wasn't. Such a shame. As for the reception, he got the order and timing of the toasts made during the reception wrong. My bridesmaid basically had to take the mic away and introduce herself and others, which was supposed to be done by him. We also had to sort of yell out "No no, he doesn't go yet" when he mistakenly started to introduce the best man for his speech. This was all planned and explained in advance but the communication to DJ Mikey got lost. Again for the sound system (this time, inside), people could not hear any announcements. I was very disappointed. The event as a whole was great as it was really about family and friends, so I was not upset about the outcome of the DJ - at the same time, I would not recommend them to others.

It is hard for me to write this review because essentially from the day of meeting till right before the wedding we dealt with DJ Gaza (Gary) and he was GREAT. Unfortunately, he was already booked on our day so we decided we would use another one of the DJs in his group. Gary was extremely thorough and professional and we can't help thinking if we had HIM on our wedding day it would have been great. On the day of the DJ we used really did not engage the crowd. The big thing for DJ Gaza and his group is that they respond to the crowd in order to get them on the floor. That did not really happen. Many songs that we had requested as MUST PLAYS were not played. We asked everyone. I feel like I would recommend DJ Gaza but probably not the particular DJ we used.

DJ Gaza is INCREDIBLE! He absolutely made our party what it was! What an incredible DJ, reliable, professional person, and down-to-earth guy. A million rave reviews wouldn't be enough!

Gary is amazing. He got everyone dancing on a Sunday night! Let him do his thing and listen to all of his suggestions. My husband and I had pretty crazy requests (he walked in to Superman), and Gary was excited to do them all! He's talented, kind, affordable and a pleasure to work with!

The most prepared and professional vendor we hired, who happens to be one of the best DJ's I've ever heard! If you get a chance to hire DJ Gaza (Gary) for your wedding, don't hesitate!! He was such a pleasure to work with and kept us dancing all night long.

DJ Gaza and DJ Rob were amazing. I was so impressed that DJ Gaza was willing to work with us despite our lack of planning and last minute booking. We were procrastinating and didn't book up until 6 or 7 weeks before the wedding. He was very patient with us and helped us think about different aspects of the reception that we hadn't thought of yet. I have to give him 6 stars for organization because he always returned my email promptly so I could always count of DJ Gaza. DJ Rob made sure everything went smoothly and he was an awesome MC as well. Finally came time for dancing and we were all on our feet dancing until the last moment of the reception. I would highly highly recommend DJ Gaza and DJ Rob.

I found DJ Gaza through my original planner, and I was so happy from the first meeting. I had met with a bunch of other DJ companies, but they all were a little over-the-top for me. I really wanted to find a laid-back DJ who would play some great music without making a spectacle of himself. Gary was exactly the guy I was looking for. He was sweet and relaxed, and knew precisely what I wanted. He was totally amenable to whatever we wanted to do, and told us he didn’t charge extra for the ceremony or the cocktail hour. It was really great to have a vendor in whom I had total confidence from the very beginning. We were making song changes up until the very last minute, and he was so nice and accommodating, even sending over ideas when I couldn’t think of any. The day of, he was exactly what I expected. He ran the reception so smoothly, played great music, and was just a great presence to have in the room. People danced all night, and not because he was constantly calling them up to dance…just because there was good music and a fun atmosphere. We’re so happy we went with him.

We wanted to take a moment to express how impressed we were with DJ Gaza (Gary) and DJ Mandy Graves at our wedding last night! The introduction, toasts, and flow of the evening went smoothly and appeared effortless. She got the party started with an early dance set before dinner and it continued all night long with a full dance floor for the last song! She was able to read the crowd and adjust when the list we had provided wasn't what the crowd wanted. She figured out the crowd and had everyone, young and old, up and dancing. From the moment we met Gary and Mandy, we knew we had made the right decision. They were so organized and professional. They listened to us and heard what we wanted and understood our vision quickly and accurately. I appreciated that Gary had deadlines for us to provide a request list and a timetable for the flow of the reception, because it made us think about these things ahead of time rather than at the last minute. Everyone at our wedding had a wonderful time, including us! People danced, ties and coats came off, and guests worked up a sweat. Exactly what we envisioned. Like many couples, we have very busy lives, and we were hesitant to even begin the process of planning a wedding. However, what we found that the key was to find talented, enthusiastic professionals who want to help you achieve your vision. Gary and Mandy are the ultimate examples of that! This review for DJ Gaza will be short because just googling him or finding his reviews on Weddingbee, Wedding Wire, etc. shows how much his couples love him. So I think the other reviews says everything about him--awesome, professional, talented. We couldn't agree more! He puts in a lot of hard work and it definitely shows during the wedding. We had a special request for him to play some Chinese music during the dinner portion of our ceremony. I burnt a bunch of songs on a CD and gave him free reign on which songs to play and when to play them. I think Gary best enjoys working when his couples trust him and gives him the freedom to work his magic. He did a great job working in the Chinese songs, blending them into mood of the night and the other English songs. Some of our relatives commented on how much they liked that part of the night. This just shows that Gary can work with any music and help you make the night enjoyable for all your guests. The music was a success and you can't go wrong with DJ Gaza!

DJ Gaza (Gary) is AMAZING! He really was the lifeline of the dance party at our wedding in May 2010 and keep the night going. I can't honestly think of anything that he didn't think of. From the day my husband and I met Gary, he was asking all the questions that we hadn't even thought of and was excited to play all the MANY requests that we had from Indian music to an all-cover cocktail. He was always 100% professional every time we met and we can't thank him enough for making it our dream wedding by having everyone on the dance floor the entire time. If you are thinking of doing a DJ (or even a band) - seriously get him while you can! He's worth every penny!!

He was able to recommend wireless speakers for our space which worked out really well to carry the sound, and he made everyone was enjoying themselves.I think he is great.

Really great DJs, we worked with both DJ Gaza and Rob. DJ Gaza won't miss a single detail, he's so thorough. And Rob played to music for our entire wedding and was so chill and nice throughout. He worked really well with the venue and the whole night went down seamlessly and smoothly. You literally could not keep people off the dance floor!

DJ Gaza's associate Rob was the DJ at our wedding. He did a great job playing the music we wanted to hear at our wedding -- the dance floor was full most of the night. DJ Gaza is super organized and between the two of them we felt like we were in good hands.

When we were planning, we always tried to interview at least three vendors per job (photographers, florists, etc). Well, when we got to DJs, Gary Hoffman/DJ Gaza was the first one we interviewed. We canceled all the other interviews after meeting him. He put us at ease, explained his process, had great sample set lists (cds for us to take home) and great recommendations. My husband (!) and I made lists of music we wanted played at the wedding, and they couldn't have been more different. Gary incorporated all of the songs we requested. If he didn't have it, he got it for us. One week before the wedding, we met and went over the flow of the day with him, our requested songs and special dances. He was prepared with a checklist of items, including things we hadn't even thought of, and extremely professional. I have to say that I was surprised that our DJ was the one going over the flow of the day with us, but it made complete sense the day of. The day of the wedding, he coordinated with the people at the restaurant regarding the timing of songs and dances. Even the event coordinator at the restaurant greeted us at the door with, "you guys got DJ Gaza, he's so great!" No joke. It was like having a coordinator and dj rolled into one. Needless to say, everything was great, he played our requested songs, got the flow just right and had everyone dancing the whole night long, with songs we requested and songs that he picked, it was a great mix. Old people and young people were on the dance floor for most of the night. People have told us that our wedding was so fun because the dj was awesome. He was. He would come up to us 5 minutes before anything big and let us know where to be, introduced everyone correctly and was flexible enough to handle a pushy requester. As for lulls, we did the dance with the father/mother dance, but he suggested we curtail the songs (one was 6 mins long) and we did so it didn't interrupt the flow of the night at all. Those were the only slow songs played because we wanted to be dancing all night long...and we were.

Like the last reviewer, our DJ Dan Selzer was booked through Gary. Gary was the main point of contact, however, and was with us every step of the way. Gary: Probably our most responsive and thorough vendor. Music was very important to us; we wanted to convey our musical tastes while ensuring that people stayed on the dance floor all night. Gary was extremely organized (asking what to play and when) and made my then-fiance and I (who were rather frazzled a month before the wedding) focus on what we wanted to hear. Submitting our requests helped us form a vision for our wedding day. Dan: Wonderful. Arrived early, as promised. Unfortunately, my husband and I were off shooting pictures during the cocktail hour, so only caught a few songs; we were told by music-loving friends that the songs played were perfect for the setting, and an obvious reflection of my groom and I. He took our song request list and ran with it; choosing songs in the same vein for a cohesive playlist. During the reception, everyone stayed on the dance floor. A great mix of songs, young and old, nothing too generic or "cheesy," much as we requested. He checked in with us during the reception - we opted to skip any ballads or slow dances, to keep up the high energy and keep the dance floor full. And finally, their fee was 30-40% less than what other DJs we interviewed charged. Those other DJs also put a cap on our number of specific requests. Really, Dan Selzer with DJ Gaza is the vendor we categorize as "best value for the money." Highly, highly, highly recommend!

Another winner – Gary is hands down amazing. The situation with the DJ was that we were choosing a DJ over a live band to save some money. My husband is a HUGE (no seriously) HUGE Bruce Springsteen fan and was VERY hesitant to have a DJ over a live band. After much discussion (and research on my part) I convinced him this was a great way to save money and it would also ensure that the Springsteen songs were actually played how and when he wanted them to be played. My husband immediately got a great vibe from Gary (as did I) and we were both reassured by him that it was OUR day and that he would partner with us to create the vibe we wanted for the ceremony music, cocktail hour and dancing part of the big day. Gary was phenomenal and seriously the most professional of all the vendors we worked with (which one wouldn’t expect from a wedding DJ!!!) From our initial introductory meeting, to the review of our very detailed “must have” play list my husband developed and working so patiently with my husband who really wanted to create a musical “vibe” all his own for our big day, Gary was nothing short of professional, pleasant and again experienced at getting the party started (and maintaining the energy all night long). He was a true pleasure to work with and I would have paid DOUBLE what we paid him to DJ. Please consider him – he creates the vibe you want, pays attention to detail and is 100% reliable (he arrived at the venue two hours before we did to do a sound check!!!)

NOTE: This review is for DJ Dirty Jean, who works with DJ Gaza We had heard wonderful things about DJ Gaza - about how he was so professional and so good at reading the crowd and keeping people dancing. Dancing is verrry important to me and my husband, so we really needed a good, non-cheesy DJ. Well, he wasn't available for our date, but he did suggest his friend, DJ Dirty Jean, who helps him out when he can't make a date. DJ Dirty Jean is AMAZING in her own right. She is as cool as they come, really. Our friends and family never left the dance floor on our wedding night, and neither did we. She played everything we asked for, didn't play anything on our do not play list, and read the crowd like an open book. She and DJ Gaza were incredibly well-organized and efficient before the wedding, and on the night of, she let it rip, she brought the house down with her skills. Let me say, I'm a huge fangirl now.

I would recommend Gary (aka dj gaza) 10000000%!!! LOOK NO FURTHER!!!! he was incredible! Outstandingly professional, prepared, organized, NICE, considerate, polite, sweet, knowledgable, not 'your cliché sleazy wedding dj' and all around awesome. Incredibly reasonably priced and worth every penny. He really is the king of wedding DJs and could dj ANY type of wedding with style and with class. Our wedding was this in April 2009 and could not have imagined our wedding without hiring Gary. He made our night over the top special and amazing! Things went exactly as prepared (he even showed up earlier than neccessary) and he was ALWAYS unbelievably organized, kind, and incredibly respectful of both us and our guests. He was not invasive, intrusive or loud. Just respectful, gracious, well dressed and well mannered and more than any of that, knew how to get the party started and keep it rolling all night long! He could read the crowd and the mood instinctually and knew how to accommodate the moment perfectly. He played all the songs we had requested, and at the perfect time. He was elegant and cool and laidback and easy and FUN and just all around SPECTACULAR! You couldn't be luckier than to have him dj your wedding. We've even thought about getting married all over just to get to work with him again!!

Gary was so professional and talented. He really listened to all our ideas, and blended our taste in music into the evening. The guests had a blast, and everyone was up dancing the whole evening. He is very organized and very easy to work with. A great guy!

My husband and I were both very pleased to work with DJ Gaza throughout the whole process of wedding planning and at the wedding itself, and so we highly recommend him. From the very beginning he was always very professional, organized, punctual, and was also very lighthearted and a lot of fun to work with. It was always very clear that he loves what he does and was always so happy and appreciative to be a part of making our wedding a special day--not just for us but for all of our guests as well. It was refreshing to work with someone who takes such pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and also aims to please. I would say one of DJ Gaza's greatest strengths is his judgment and flexibility--I think that he would be happy to take direction and play an extensive playlist of your choosing or in the completely opposite direction, he could play a whole wedding from scratch with just a small amount of input. These qualities makes him so easy to work with and an absolute asset. He also has an extensive range and broad appreciation of music. He was never judgmental about the kinds of songs we picked and was also very positive. While he certainly had his own ideas for songs, it was most important to him that we had the type of music we wanted played at our wedding. He does a great job collaborating with you to determine a music playlist that flows with the timeline of the event, and is also good at reading the crowd and mixing so that the energy of the event is always positive and upbeat--i.e. if people are kind of drifting away from the dance floor, he ramps it up with a fast-paced dance song likely to be popular with the crowd. Our guests totally loved him, and we had a vast array of music preferences and ages, ranging from 13 up to 83. As far as personal style, he wore a very nice suit and tie the day of our wedding and was always poised and professional. During announcements he was always cool and collected--he never sounded nervous, did not put on a special voice or tone, nor did he play any goofy music. I guess what I'm trying to say is he was never anything like a cheesy radio dj. In line with that, he was sure to practice all of the names and confirmed the pronunciation with us beforehand. Overall, I would say that DJ Gaza was the best wedding dj we could have had and it was a pleasure to work with him the whole time. I would highly recommend him and think he would be an absolute asset for any and all weddings.

DJ Gaza (Gray Hoffman) was a pleasure to work with. At every step of the way leading up to our wedding he was extremely helpful! Everyone was dancing the entire night away! He was very understanding and helpful with helping us please the different age groups that attended our wedding while making it an amazing evening! He is one of the most professional DJ's I have ever come across!
