Hi all! I'm from Australia, and I eloped in NYC in January 2013! My husband Aaron and I, after being together 10 years, wanted to do something different, and keep it low key and itimate.. I emailed a bunch of people,which I mostly found on Craigslist. I got lots of replies, but Jess's really stood out for me. Her reply was friendly, warm, and still professional. I then went and took a closer look at her website, which definately sealed the deal for me. I was so well thought-out, very informative,and you could really see how genuine she was. You could really see how commited she is to making each couples days as special and memorable as she could. Not to mention, her portfolio of pictures were outstanding!! Have you guys checked them all out yet?! After a few emails back and forth about various things, it was like chatting to a friend overseas - it was great to have a connection with someone and put my mind at ease! The big day was a very chilly NYC kinda day, and were to meet Jess outside the venue - City Hall! From the get-go, Jess definately didn't dissapoint! She got to City Hall early,and it was so great to finally meet her! I told Jess I wanted an 'old hollywood/glamour' type theme for my photos, and so she had organised a list of some some cool locations to get the look- such as Grand Central Station, Times Square, 5th Ave and finished with a sunset over Central Park. We also stopped at little places on the way, just spur of the moment,which made for some great shots. So despite the chill, it was a warm and wonderful day. When we came got back to Australia, our photo's were ready, and they were fantastic! Jess had captured so many little moments that were so sweet, and beautiful shots that were candid,yet classic. We have so many of them up on our walls now at home, it's insane! It was too hard to choose! Aaron and I would definately reccomend Jess's services to anyone in the market for a professional photographer. Thanks again Jess!

Jess and I go way back so I was thrilled that her and her husband, Eric were going to be able to photograph our big day! Jessica was incredibly professional throughout the whole process and her positive and cheerful disposition always made us feel comfortabel and at ease in front of the camera. She was personally involved from the beginning and was really invested in making sure our photos captured all of the most important moments. Jess' well developed systems and routines made taking portraits a breeze and we never felt like photos were taking too long, like we'd experienced being in our friends' weddings. Jess also helped us schedule photos for the day so that we could enjoy as much of our wedding as possible. Our photos are wonderful and I look at them all the time. Jess and Eric captured all of the love and happiness we were feeling that day and I am so grateful that we have the photos to look at for the rest of our lives. We just got our album over the weekend and I've already looked at it about 10 times. I just love it! My husband and I would recommend Jessica to any couple who is looking for someone to who is passionate about what they do, listens to their clients and captures all of the best moments of the big day!

I cannot praise Jessica enough, and would highly recommend her to all future brides. Her photos themselves are beautiful, and every aspect of my interaction with her was simply outstanding. Jessica is incredibly communicative and responsive via email and phone. She is so detail-oriented and has helpful tips and sample shot lists and schedules, which I found extremely helpful. In-person, she is friendly and professional yet easy-going. She makes everyone feel very at ease and she is so knowledgeable about making your photos look the best. For example, she will move your dress or wait for the wind to change directions so the photo is simply perfect. Not only did she get every photo on the shot list I requested, but she got many more than I ever could have expected. Jessica was also great at keeping an eye on the clock. We were running late, and she was flexible about rearranging the schedule to make it work. She stayed very calm and somehow still got every portrait we wanted. (plus, she didn't stress me out, which was much appreciated!) Also, Jessica was great at politely but firmly directing family during our portraits, so we got them done very quickly. She has an amazing eye and as we were walking around she occasionally asked us to stop to take a quick photo -- these unplanned photos were some of my favorites! She also takes a great combination of "artistic" photos, candids, and portraits. Jessica also gets the photos to you very quickly, despite her being so busy. I have friends who got married before I did who still don't have their wedding photos. In terms of value, Jessica has very competitive prices, particularly when you consider the quality of her work and business. I feel I got an excellent value for my investment. Simply put, I cannot recommend Jessica more highly. I believe all future brides would be thrilled with her work.

Jessica and her husband are WONDERFUL!!!!! We started with our engagement photos which exceeded our expectations. We had wanted to do photos in DC and Jessica was so creative in setting up the poses and photos, yet they still looked natural. She provided us with a CD and had the photos ready as promised (less than 3 weeks). As the wedding approached she gave me the most helpful timeline and made a number of suggestions on organizing items so that she and her husband could get as many of the standard items photographed before the last minute rush prior to the ceremony. She also requested that I send her as many "sample" photos of poses and other ideas so that she could be sure to capture what we wanted. Our contract included two photographers, a photo booth during the reception and 8 hours of photo time. The photos are stunning!!!!!!! Jessica and her husband are so creative- I don't know how I will select the photos for the book she is making me. The photos were available as promised in three weeks and we could not be happier. Thank you Jessica for letting us remember this day forever :)

Jessica (and her husband) are so nice and personable. I knew that when my husband and I first met with Jessica, she was well organized and her photos were beautiful. I knew within 5 minutes that we would be hiring her. You can see that Jessica is in her element when she gets to a venue. She immediately went to work-photographing everything, and did not miss a beat. One of the most impressive things about Jessica is that she was so well organized with the post-ceremony family pictures, that we were completely finished within 30-45 minutes, and had a good 10-15 minutes for my husband and I to take a few minutes for ourselves before the reception began. Jessica even helped me feel relaxed during my wedding day. We had hired her husband as well for the photobooth, and they both work extremely well together. Her husband is great at engaging with the participants of the photo booth, and even laughing to get guests fired up to get even goofier. (The photobooth was SO much fun!) My entire family, as well as my husband and I, were extremely impressed with Jessica and her level of professionalism, enthusiasm the day of (always telling me that the photos were looking good) and personality. Jessica was a pleasure to work with. Do yourself a favor and go with Jessica as your photographer- you will not be disappointed.

We were so happy with our choice of Photographer!!! I was very specific in what I wanted and Jessica was able to see my vision throughout all the pictures she took. They were artistic but very warm and natural. She and her husband were very down to earth it made it so easy to be around them on our big day and we felt as if we had known them all along. I didn't even realize they were there at the wedding and reception they were so quiet and we couldn't believe all the great pics we got! They captured every moment of the day, just as we envisioned it all. Wow-where to start...well maybe the beginning! Jessica was the one who told me how to totally do my wedding ceremony. Her recommendations were very thoughtful and right on. I've been a fan of Jess' photos for a while now. In fact, when I got engaged--she was one of the first phone calls I made--to ensure she would be available! The way she uses light and focus--is what I like most. I really like those artsy ones! She is experienced in the way that she knows exactly what you're going to want to see after your special day. She was organized and made sure that my wedding photos would be the way I wanted them. Also--her assistant/husband Eric is really great--It was so fun having him on the guy's side and her on the girl's! He even helped put up the chuppah! She thought of everything and I really am so glad to have had her take my wedding photos!

We were worried that a budget wedding in Manhattan would be impossible, but finding Jessica Schmitt offered extremely high quality photography at a price that fit our budget. We had engagement and wedding photo shoots with her and found her to be fun and creative. She also managed to make us both look good, which wasn’t easy because we are both camera shy and not so photogenic. You wouldn’t tell it from our pictures. The engagement session gave us a chance to get comfortable with a camera pointed at us. Jess was friendly and enthusiastic and it rubbed off on us. The week before the wedding, we had the best phone call ever. We spoke on the phone to go over the plan for the wedding day and because of her experience she gave great advice about scheduling, decoration details, and even how long to hold the first kiss! The day of our wedding, Jess was prompt and extremely efficient getting tons of great shots while keeping the large families and bridal party calm and focused. Even though it was a hot summer day, she managed to take a huge number of great looking photographs, and no one passed out from heat exhaustion. Choosing photos for the album was extremely difficult because ever shot was great and we could only pick 100 out of the nearly 1,000 shots she took. She had a package that worked perfectly for our small and short wedding. We would recommend Jessica whole heartedly.

Jess is great! She answered emails promptly, was flexible with our crazy schedule (we lived in two different cities and had to meet her in a third, but only on certain days, and she was great about it), was very professional during our first meeting, and we didn't even bother meeting anyone else. We liked her work and she had a package that would fit our needs (short, small wedding on a Sunday afternoon). We met her to do an engagement shoot, and we're really glad we did - we actually had fun (and we don't like cameras!) and got very comfortable with her style and what she asked us to do. We loved the engagement pictures! The day of the wedding was a blur, but Jess captured tons of details I never saw, as well as the big moments. She's comfortable and efficient when working with big families and bridal parties, even though we were in a public park in NYC, so there were plenty of members of the public wandering in and out of our shots. The resulting photographs were truly works of art. We would recommend Jess to anyone, and will definitely ask her to document other important events in our family in the future.

Jessica did such a wonderful job at our wedding. Originally, we had not planned to use a professional photographer, but changed our mind after meeting with Jessica. It was truly worth every penny! She captured all the shots we had requested and so many more. She was not at all obtrusive and we couldn't believe how many shots she had taken at the ceremony and reception since we didn't even notice her taking them. She has such an artistic eye made every aspect of our wedding look even better in the photos. When looking for photographers my then fiance and I were overwhelmed by the amount of professionals to choose from. From day one Jessica has been a joy to work with. Throughout the wedding planning process she was very responsive and always easy to get a hold of. She was very knowledgeable and always prepared which made it easy to outline the schedule of the day and the shots we would like. The day of she was very prompt and professional. She did a great job making everyone feel comfortable and being really unobtrusive while taking photos. She got some great shots without ruining the flow of the wedding. Not to mention, her actual work is fantastic! Our photos came out even better than I had imagined. We chose Jessica because of her impressive online portfolio and all of the rave reviews. Jessica and her husband Eric are so easy to work with! We had engagement photos, a photo booth and both of them for the day of the wedding. Her packages are customizable so you can buy what you want and list the kind of shots you want so you don't end up with anything you don't like. I like to be hands-on with my memories, so I found that to be quite convenient. I've already seen the photo booth slideshow, so now I'm waiting on our final book. I would definitely use Jessica again for another photo session!

Jessica did a wonderful job capturing our May 12 wedding. The photographs are absolutely beautiful, and Jessica was extremely professional throughout the entire day. Working with Jessica was a breeze, and she had a variety of packages with options for customization, which we appreciated. I can not speak more highly of Jessica Schmitt Photography! While planning our wedding I spent a lot of time looking at different photographers and I fell in love with Jessica's photographs. She not only did the formal protraits you have at every wedding but she also does the more artistic photos. I was very clear that I wanted the formal must have shots - but those aren't the ones I would frame in my house - I'd frame the more artistic ones. Jessica covered all the bases with our wedding photographs. As a bride on the budget I not only fell in love with Jessica's pictures but also her prices and photo packages. Jessica offers a wide range of packages and offers flexibility when deciding what you want. Jessica met my husband and I months before our big day and kept in touch along the way. She showed up early on our wedding day and made everything hassle free! She is highly professional and knows exactly what she is doing. A few days after the wedding she does a blog post with some of the best pictures (kind of like your sneak peak) and my family and friends raved about the blog! It was wonderful and such a great thing to see so close to when the wedding was and not having to wait to see a photo! Jessica is by far the best talent out there and a joy to work with!

Jessica was extremely responsive, professional, and organized throughout the entire wedding planning process. She always answered all my questions and provided helpful recommendations and suggestions for specific aspects of the timeline and photos. I also loved the fact that she was very unintrusive during the entire wedding day. We have not seen all of the photos from the event, but what we have seen we absolutely love. She seemed very knowledgeable about lighting and where the best places were to take certain photos. Jessica is absolutely amazing! I can't say enough good things about her. She is so wonderful to work with, so caring and so professional. And her pictures are fantastic! Jessica of Jessica Schmitt Photography is AMAZING! We are so lucky to have found her. We searched for months, visited countless websites, and made numerous calls trying to find the perfect company to capture our story. Our husband and I met in middle school and we had a "School Themed" wedding. We knew that we wanted elegant, yet fun pics and she was able to bring that to life. She also shot our Engagement Photos which turned out just as fantastic as the wedding portraits. She was very professional, but also made us feel like we were family. She was always responsive via email and/or phone, and she was SUPER flexible. We had to reschedule our engagement shoot 4 times and each time she made herself available. She was sweet and very friendly with our guests. Everyone kept telling me how nice she was. And talk about being inconspicuous....there were some shots that made me wonder how in the world she captured them! She was rarely seen throughout the entire ceremony! Working with Jessica was one of the best decisions we made for our Vow Renewal. We weren't going to splurge on a professional at first, but I can't imagine how everything would have gone without her there. Meeting with her before our ceremony set both my husband and I at ease. We could not have been happier with Jessica as our photographer! At our first meeting, Jessica was courteous, creative, and down-to-earth, and those traits carried through to the end. She provided us with everything we needed to know about making photos go smoothly on our wedding day. Jessica is an all-around professional. Excellent, excellent, excellent! We used Jessica for both our engagement and wedding photos; the pictures came our great and the Mr. and I both enjoyed working with Jessica. Two things in particular impressed me about Jessica (and her husband Eric, who joined her to shoot the wedding): she did a great job of managing large, chaotic crowds, and she got a lot of work done very quickly. The after-Mass shots, where we had to get as many portraits done as quickly as possibly while subbing in and out with various parents, aunts, cousins, etc were very well executed; Jessica knew we wanted to get to cocktail hour as soon as we could and kept things moving without sacrificing the quality of the photos or failing to stage us properly. Jessica was also very responsive in the lead-up to the wedding. We had several conversations about which pictures and which people were must takes, what kind of family dynamics needed to be considered, how much time we would have in different locations, etc. I was so happy on wedding day not to have to feel like I needed to stage direct each photo's composition; Jessica knew exactly who needed to be in which pictures and moved the right people in and out with minimal confusion and standing around. Jessica was also able to handle unique shots quite well: on both wedding day and in our engagement shots, the Mr. and I posed with our dog-- those pictures are awesome. We also did some pictures with a large vehicle which came out very well. One of the other many "best" things about Jessica ("best" in quotes because there are 5 or 6 "best" things): her time processing the pictures after the wedding was very quick. We got married 3 weeks ago and already have a website and disc full of pictures to look through; very few photographers I have heard of can manage that kind of turn around. I have really enjoyed looking at the pictures, too. They all came out beautifully. I have been surprised to see how many moment throughout the day she caught-- she and Eric were so unobtrusive during the wedding, particularly during the ceremony, that I am amazed they still have so many great photos. Definitely recommend working with Jessica!

Having a DIY wedding in a national forest presented us with a multitude of challenges. The last thing we needed to worry about was our photographer. Luckily, we had Jessica! Her professionalism and great attitude meant we had one less item to worry about. The day of the wedding was wonderful and Jessica captured the joy and fun we all had. Her photographs were thoughtful and spontaneous, funny and sincere. We could not have asked for more. We highly recommend Jessica to anyone seeking a photographer.

We absolutely LOVED working with Jess and her husband Eric. Jess did both our engagement photos as well as our wedding photography. She was very flexible in all aspects of our photography. Jessica and her husband Eric are exceptional wedding photographers. I can't say enough good things. Everyone who sees our wedding photos loves them and asks who our photographer was. You spend more time with your photographer than you realize on your wedding day and Jessica was a pleasure to be around, truly excited to share in our day and excellent at what she does, with a great eye for photography. She actually laid down in 16th St. to get this one awesome shot of us in front of our church! It was great having 2 photographers so one could document both me and my now husband during prep time. Two photographers also allowed us to have a "photo booth guest book" (one of Jessica's new services) at the reception, which was a hit, while also catching plenty of candids of the guests. Jessica gives you the rights to your photos from day 1 and her packages are terrific values relative to other photographers I considered. She's very organized and attentive, perhaps more so than any other vendor we worked with. Thank you so much for documenting our day! I recommend Jessica and Eric to every couple without hesitation!

We really enjoyed working with Jessica and Eric. All our photographs are very lovely and they were quite easy to work with. They are such a great team. We really liked Jessica's creativity. Poses were fluid, looking at the pictures one can tell a story. One thing that amazed us was their dedication. We needed my bouquet for a picture and I asked my husband to go and get it, before I finished asking the question Eric had already gotten the bouquet. They are defintely a great team to work with and we will defintely go back to them for portraits or any other photos.

Eric and Jessica were a delight to work with. They were very flexible in accomodating my schedule during the planning stages of our wedding. They ensured that we got every request that we wanted by incorporating them in their regular services. The pictures came out very nicely as commented by all our family and friends.

I love my pictures from Jessica! The quality and style of the photographs were amazing. She did a really great job of capturing the highlights of the ceremony and reception in a way that tells a story. A lot of people at the wedding have commented on how friendly and nice our photographer was. Her prices were extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality that you get. As a bonus, she specializes in touching up the photographs, which was extremely useful for me when the bustle on my dress broke. I really couldn't have asked for more in a photographer for such a special and important day.

We had a small wedding on the east coast and had a low photography budget because we were having 2 weddings. Jessica worked with us and it was such a pleasure to have her as our photographer. The pictures she took were top notch/beautiful and I could remember the day through looking at all the pictures she took. The reason I did not give her all 5s was because she missed the shot of our first kiss after we said our "I do". I felt this was an important shot. We'll know this for our second wedding, later this year. It was good practice. Regardless of this, I am so glad we found her and picked her to do our photography. It's too bad we can't have her photograph our west coast wedding out in California.

We found Jessica when we were attending a friends wedding in June 2010. Despite the fact that our friend's garden wedding was rained out and quickly moved inside we noticed that Jessica did not lose a step and was able to capture the most wonderful shots. After meeting with her, my (then) fiance and I knew we wanted her to photograph our wedding. We selected the package that offered the services of two photographers that inluded Jessica and her husband for 8 hours. We chose this package based on the fact our wedding was going to include 120 - 150 people and we wanted to make sure nothing was missed. On the day of our wedding both Jessica and her husband arrived on time and immediately went to work. They captured the most wonderful shots that told the story of our day. After the wedding Jessica quickly got our photos edited for our viewing so we could select pictures for our wedding book. She also created the most beautiful wedding album for us. Jessica Schmitt photography was hands down the best vendor choice we made for our wedding. The husband/wife team are incredible talents and we were lucky to meet Jessica at a friend's wedding a few months before ours. Jessica is formally educated in the arts and it really shows in her photography. I liked that she didn't concentrate on the same old boring husband/wife portrait shots that are ubiquitous in today's photography landscape. Not only were they very artistic, but they also wore all black and were extremely unobtrusive at the reception while managing to capture 100's of awesome candid shots of guests and dancing, and artistic shots of backgrounds, lights, venue, etc. Also, her price is unbelievable for the quality. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! I will be giving Jessica's info to anyone I know looking for a well versed high quality photographer.

I couldn't be more grateful we found Jessica to be our wedding photographer. She was totally flexible, working with us to figure out exactly what we wanted, and then determine what made sense for our particular wedding (both our style and budget.) I initially had some apprehension about wedding photography. We were having a very small (7 people total) wedding, and I wasn't confident I could find a photographer who was willing to put together a smaller-scale package that fit our needs. And, would he/she be able to find enough different, interesting things to take pictures of - after all, just how many different shots can you take of 7 people anyway? Not a problem at all with Jessica. She really captured the unique spirit of our day. Of course we have all the obligatory photos of the "big" moments (rings, kiss, cake) but also this wonderful collection of all these other special moments that I would never have seen, or even know happened, otherwise. Her photos are lovely, and they don't look like every other cookie cutter wedding photographer in town, which I love. Her price was more than reasonable, and in my opinion the quality of her work was much higher than so many other photographers we considered, who charged much more. Last, but definitely not least, Jessica is just a really, really, really nice person. (And who doesn't want that kind of person around on her wedding day?)

Jessica was at our wedding for the entire event yet we did not notice her presence outside of the staged family shots. She captured the essense of the location, ceremony and reception and delivered over 600 fabulously dramatic and crisp photo's from the Bride and Groom preparing though the entire event. Reviewing the photo's and slide show is like being everywhere at the event with everyone . Her professionalism is remarkable. We really loved working with Jess. She was flexible and patient. She really cared about the images we wanted to capture and she was very attentive in the planning process and on the actual day of our wedding. During the ceremony and reception, she seemed to fade into the background of the event while still capturing all of the big moments and many of the little moments that sometimes get lost in the shuffle. Her presence was so natural. She seemed to know where my new husband and I were at all times but also got great shots of all of our guests. Our guests remarked on how polite and friendly she was and everyone said we were lucky to have her because she took SOOO many pictures. We did feel truly lucky to have Jess as our photographer because besides from her attentiveness and graceful presence, she took AMAZING PHOTOS. Our couples portraits are beautiful, our group shots were so much fun, and our candid and ceremony shots are just perfect. We are so happy with our photos and are thrilled to have such wonderful memories captured by such an awesome photographer!

Wow. I have nothing to say but amazing. Jess has the best qualities of a photographer you could ask for. She captured every moment on our wedding day and you didn't even know they were there. We have so many pictures to choose from. The best thing for me is that I had all my pictures in 12 days! I have friends waiting 3 months for their wedding pictures. The engagement and wedding pics are amazing and we can't wait for the next excuse to have our picture taken by Jessica Schmitt photography!

Jessica was great!! We couldn't have asked for a better photographer. She stayed out of the way and gave us a ton of shots (over 1200). Everyone loved her, my mom is still raving about her. She also did a DVD set to the music that my husband and I danced to for our first dance. Everything turned out great. She was super easy to work with and accomodated all of our requests. I would recommend her to anyone!

I'm so glad Jessica was available to photograph our wedding. We hired Jessica as an additional photographer for our wedding when the other photographer we hired was unable to provide a second person to assist him for coverage. Our wedding attendance was about 125-150 people, outdoors in the 101 degree summer Georgia heat (not fun), and took place over the transitional hours of evening when lighting conditions in the partially wooded areas of our wedding venue were certainly a challenge. I wanted to take the time to write this review to share some of the important aspects of Jessica's service and photography that we noticed both during the event, and after all of the wedding chaos subsided. The main photographer that I will not name here did an average job. However, most surprisingly when we chose shots to send to family and later during compilation of our wedding album we found that literally 90% of the shots we chose ended up being from Jessica who we were fortunate to have hired as "backup". She might as well been the only photographer we hired! The reason we consider her shots to be the true record of that day relate to a few important points. 1. The artful composition of the shots was head and shoulders above the other photographer, who seemed in the end to be "a guy with a camera". I believe the fact that Jessica is a trained and natural visual artist with experience beyond just photography gives her a value over other photographers that have fallen into the trade purely for money. 2. She captured every important moment on film that we discussed ahead of time, and even the ones that were not anticipated and could not be planned for… moments that otherwise would not have been enjoyed later with another less adept photographer. Those shots were not only documented but taken with subtlety and attention to detail that only comes with focus that an natural artist has. 3. Without getting into specifics of money, Jessica's service was of an immense value. In hindsight if we had ONLY hired her and paid her the amount of both her fee and the first photographer combined, I would have felt that we got a great deal in the end. I would add also that her output as a photographer exceeds many others that I have seen friends spend double and triple the amount of money for. There is no question, by hiring Jessica you will have guaranteed pro-level service and photos to remember your day by for years to come. I don't normally write reviews, but the exceptional experience we had as clients, and the challenging circumstances of our wedding warranted some words of recognition.
