Morgan is AMAZING!!! When planning my priorities for my wedding, my makeup was one of my top priorities since it would be a highlight in my pictures that would last me forever. I had a makeup trial done in SD by another makeup artist and it turned out horrible! It looked ok from far, but close up I looked awful. I kept researching and found Morgan Gates. I set up trial make up run with her and was extremely happy with the results. I looked good from far and up close which was equally important to me since I would be talking up close to so many guests at my wedding. I happily booked Morgan on the spot. I bragged to my bridesmaids how amazing she was, and convinced them to have her do their makeup as well. You can just tell by the way Morgan does her own makeup, that she is a professional and you will look great! :-) Morgan happily said she would come to the venue early to start my bridesmaids makeup before mine. However, a week before my wedding, my venue told me that I would be charged big bucks if we showed up any earlier. This was a huge problem because my bridesmaids had no where to go for Morgan to do their makeup. I suggested to Morgan that maybe we could do the other girls makeup in the parking lot. Well, Morgan having a heart of gold decided to bring a team of other make up artists with her, so they could do my bridesmaids makeup at the appropriate arrival time, while she would strictly work on me, and graciously said it would be at no extra charge. That meant the WORLD to me!!!! I had 1,000 things to worry about for my wedding, and Morgan graciously offering that took a huge weight off my shoulders. My wedding day makeup looked even MORE amazing then the trial run! I couldn't believe how beautiful I looked. Her work took my breath away. I took one look in the mirror and wanted to cry, but didn't want to ruin her amazing job! I knew I would look beautiful and flawless for my wedding pictures and for all my close up conversations at my wedding. Sure enough I got compliments alllll night long on how beautiful and flawless my makeup looked. My wedding pictures came back and I couldn't be happier with how my makeup looks in the pictures that will last forever. She made me look like a princess on the most important day of my life. When you look at my wedding pictures, my makeup really stands out on how romantic and flawless it is. Many other makeup artists would have looked at the situation of not being able to arrive to the venue early and just said "oh well." But Morgan has a heart of gold, is sincere, and truly cares about people. Her main concern was about not making me stress on my wedding day, and for that I am forever thankful to her for. I truly know she is going to be a powerful name in the makeup industry, so get her now!!!!!!!!!!! I promise you that you will not be disappointed! If I could give her 10 stars I would. She is a true professional and you can tell she is passionate about what she does. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone! I would use her again in a heartbeat for any other special occasion! I loved her makeup so much, I even slept in it on my wedding night! :-)

Morgan Gates is an amazing makeup artist. I wasn't sure that I actually wanted someone to do do my makeup for my wedding because I am so particular about my makeup, but I am so happy that I chose Morgan. She did a great job on my makeup and my bridesmaids. We looked beautiful. Everyone was happy with their makeup and that is not very common. I have been in a couple weddings and never let anyone do my makeup. I am not a professional but I usually like to do my own makeup because I know what I like and am comfortable with. She does a trial, which is great if you want to talk about the look you want. I HIGHLY recommend Morgan for any event.

Morgan did my make-up for my wedding in 2007. I was going for the classic 1950's look and she did an awesome job. It was exactly what I wanted and I felt beautiful on my wedding day. Morgan is super cute, professional, and has some major skills. I would definitely recommend her!

Sometimes serendipity walks into the room, and you get precisely what you need and want. Enter Morgan Gates. Lately I've had bad luck. Some icky personal events, plus my skin is changing and I'm feeling, well, sun damage-y. Too much sadness and insomnia. Prob was, professional headshots were #1 on my to-do list. I needed real makeup applied by a real makeup artist with practical, real expertise. In other words, I needed to be camera ready -- and fast. Morgan Gates understands lighting. She's not some gloss-wielding cutiepie stranger you meet for a fleeting 45 minutes when you're a bridesmaid, or facing a major dinner date, or meeting somebody's uncomfortably stunning ex. Morgan Gates is a professional. My professional photographer agreed. He couldn't believe how great her makeup was, and the guy sees professionally applied makeup all day long. Morgan achieved the perfect balance of polish and natural. My skin never looked better. Just the right mix of glamour and reality. And the photographs were perfect. Not a pixel over- or underdone. No Photoshop required. I'm 45. That's pretty amazing. Morgan is charming, sweet, funny, a pro through and through. Plus she's a Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley lookalike, gorgeous, with red hair to die for. Morgan has better hair than Jenny, though. With her artistic eye, practical knowledge, professionalism, great work ethic and calming spirit, Morgan is perfect for bridal work. I've been married twice and served as a bridesmaid many times; I know. This girl would make Kevyn Aucoin smile. She is bound for editorial heights in LA or NYC. San Diegans, partake of her talent while she's here. I sure will.
