What a disappointment. We were excited to have our DJ come and be a part of our big day. But as soon as we arrived (Half way through the cocktail hour) there was music playing, but it was not what we had chosen for cocktail hour, also no one could hear the music. Three days before the reception we received an email requesting my husband and i to buy the linens and bring the table for them. They were so unprepared they did not have any vinyls so basically what would have been played was the equivalent of an iPod being played. Thank God our friend (a DJ) came and allowed them to use his vinyls and actually took the mic because the DJ was silent. The only positive is that they showed up. Oh, and also a man with the DJ was taking photos of all of our friends and family, including my husband and i without permission. when approached the DJ said they were 'her photos' SO DISSATISFIED

While there were some mistakes made on the part of the DJ and we recognize your DJ friend was trying to help the situation, its very disruptive to a DJ to have his or her performance commandeered. In spite of that, our DJ put forth every effort to get the dance floor going, keep guests entertained, and create a festive atmosphere according to the music direction you provided. Regardless of all of the above, what matters to us is that you were displeased with the way things turned out, and we do take customer feedback very seriously. DJ Alias was great and Dana was a pleasure to work with. Our dance floor was packed until the very last song. Only wish that two of our "do not play" artists weren't played, but the guests were so happy that in the end it didn't matter.

We wanted our reception to be a party and DJ Cool Out provided that! We had a great time at our wedding and so did our guests.

Scratch Weddings was great to work with. They were very responsive from the beginning, which is how I decided to book with them. The other DJ companies I was looking at never returned my emails. Everyone that I worked with was very professional and nice. We booked with DJ Bounce, who was very easy going and flexible with our changes. We were running late and he accommodated nicely. He played the right music at the right time and even MC'ed our wedding. The only thing that made me a little nervous is that I did not meet DJ Bounce ahead of time. Scratch scheduled a conference call the week of the wedding where we discussed the specifics. After the conference call, my mind was at ease and I realized it wasn't that big of a deal.

Scratch Weddings was a great choice for our wedding. They were so professional and made things very easy for us during a stressful time. DJ Tracktion was awesome and had everyone on the dance floor all night! We highly recommend Scratch Weddings and DJ Tracktion!

We just had our wedding at the Brooklyn Winery this past Friday and we hired DJ Alkaline, I was a little bit worried because I am Colombian and I had really specific music on my mind. DJ Alkaline was very receptive, he did everything we asked for and even more! everyone was happy dancing all night long and when the wedding ended all the people were asking for more and more songs, people loved it! If you are looking for a DJ please go to Scratch, they are amazing people.

Working with Scratch was a breeze. Everyone I came in touch with was incredibly responsive and professional. The toughest thing was picking out which DJ to use for our wedding. We ended up using Mark Gallo and he was absolutely fabulous. From the few songs we had provided prior to the event, he knew exactly what we were looking for and he delivered. He incorporated all of the different genres we asked for, while keeping the dance floor packed the entire time. I definitely give Mark and Scratch two thumbs up!

DJ K Ross in Buffalo, was awesome! He did a great job, and overall the whole Scratch DJ Wedding team was helpful, and super flexible. I was even able to meet our DJ a few days before to check out the venue, and go over everything with him; he was very easy going and easy to work with. On the day of, he was great, super helpful, and flexible with all the last minute changes and minor details. He didn't play a single song from our do-not-play list. And kept the dance floor going. My fiance was a little disappointed that more of "his" indie/techno music didn't make the play list, but we asked him to keep the dance floor going and play what would keep people out there. The dance floor never was not packed, and everyone had a great time. Since the playlist was pretty wedding standard the value wasn't awesome for the price we paid, but we did love his work, and I love the true DJ transitions between songs over the traditional wedding DJ. And overall wouldn't change a thing! Thanks again!!!

We used Scratch and DJ Sevim at our Miami wedding and were thrilled with how things turned out. Scratch is incredibly reliable -- they always responded to our emails and questions and were on top of all aspects of the music and sound at our ceremony and reception. We got so many compliments on the dance music and the party was fantastic. We highly recommend Scratch Weddings and DJ Sevim!

I was not thrilled with our Dj. I felt like we payed quite a bit, and while he played the music we wanted, I had to have my father constantly go and remind him to announce things like toasts, cake cutting, etc. Also, at one point, my husband asked him a question and he was chatting on facebook!

Everyone loved DJ Graffiti and said I threw the best wedding they have ever been to. My wedding planner wanted to work with him again and recommend him to other brides. Everyone was up on the floor dancing, from the very young to very old. Everyone was having fun!

It was such a pleasure working with the entire Scratch Team. Our DJ--DJ Tanner, made a mix for us as requested so we can do our first choreographed funny dance mix...so much fun!! The guests were entertained and we all partied the night away.

DJ Mike Kruz was amazing! I have to be honest, I was nervous at first because I tend to over-plan everything and, even though I was right in line with what all the timelines said, I felt as though I had not "planned" everything out with the DJ yet. Boy was I worried for nothing!! My husband and I had our final call with Kimerie and DJ Mike Kruz about two weeks before the wedding and EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!! We could not have been happier with the music throughout both the ceremony and the reception. I actually chose Scratch based upon the great reviews that I read about them...I had never seen one of their DJ's at an actual event. I hope that my review helps another bride!

I had DJ Premo and he was fantastic!!! My guest had a great time because he had the party going all night!!

DJ Alkaline from Scratch Weddings DJ'ed our wedding. We couldn't have been more happy with their service! Tomas did exactly what we asked, he played music all night that was exactly in line with our style and tastes (which was a mix of 80s, oldies, turn of the millenium hip hop, house/dance). He emcee'd just enough to get the crowd going on the dance floor and then let the music and party take on a life of it's own. He was polite and accommodating to guests and played requests that fit into the musical stylings of the evening. DJ Alkaline showed up on time, dressed professionally, didn't mispronounce any names (which was quite a feat), and really helped carry the evening along in a smooth and flowing manner. We would absolutely recommend Scratch and DJ Alkaline to other brides and grooms to be!

We had DJ Schemes at our wedding and he was awesome. Everything from the music he played to the amount he talked vs. not talked was perfect. Guests danced the entire time and he mixed old and new songs perfectly to keep everyone happy. My husband was able to say goodbye and thank him, but I wasnt. I would have hugged him because he was amazing!!

We got married at a loft space in NYC and hired DJ Alias from Scratch to DJ the event. We had seen him at a venue in Manhattan, then were treated to an in-person private meeting at Scratch where he spun some of our favorite songs...we were hooked! DJ Alias perfectly set the mood at the wedding, from the song choices to the transitions to speaking only when it was necessary:-) Everyone LOVED the music, and we tore up the dance floor. We would highly recommend Scratch, and especially DJ Alias!

When I fisrt saw Scratch Weddings it was at the Great Bridal Expo. I was so excited abou tthe DJ (Cool Out) that performed, I knew I had to have him for my wedding. I called the next day and booked him. A bit pricy in my eyes ( $1400) but was able to take advantage of the show special for $1250. They allowed me to pay it off and that was nice. When I booked, I asked the woman if I could take my fiance to see Dj cool Out perform since he was not with me when I saw him, I was told yes. As months wore on, I was told he was booked and not performing publically except at the Revel Casino in AC (how about comping me the door charge so I can hear him work? NOPE! A happy customer is good advertising) Then I was told he would meet me for Coffee... I wanna hear him spin and not drink latte with him. A bit disappointed, I hung in there because he was sooo good at the show. Had my final call with him and his office staff the week before the wedding. We went over everything, first dance, special call-outs, name pronunciation etc.... felt better that day would be perfect. Once the reception started, I was not too happy. A number of my guest said he mispronounced our names at intro, he messed up Mother son dance (supposed to have other specific Moms invited up), forgot to wish my step son Happy Birhtday and even forgot a special dance for my cousin who just got engaged. In addition, the music kept stopping mid song and there was very little of the signature mixing that I fell in love with done at the reception. Needless to say, I AM DISAPPOINTED and would not in good conscience recommend him to anyone. Oh and he didnt bring any DJ lights... I assumed (my bad) that some type of lighting would be part of the deal, boy was I wrong. For $1250... I got a lot of negative comments from all my family and friends... and a huge regret about my choice of DJ. My only wedding blunder!

From reading all the reviews about scratchweddings as our DJ service before finally picking them, we were anticipating great service. And that was what we got. The coordinators at Scratchweddings (Monica and Dana) helped us plan for our DJ service as needed before the wedding efficiently. They did not bother us with too much communication but they also gave us reminders when we needed to get details ready and helped wrap things together right before the wedding. Our DJ, DJ Ollie, was a great DJ. He stuck with songs that we listed (usually we hear DJs will choose their own songs based on your recommended list but do not actually use any on the list, but DJ Ollie used the songs we gave and also nicely tied in others that fit very well) and played exactly the songs we wanted for activities like the introductions, the last dance, etc. He was also very detail-oriented, making sure he understood the pronounciations of all the names that he would be announcing (even down to our siblings) and adapted well when we had any last minute changes. He worked very well with the venue's maitre'd to ensure that everything was coordinated well that day at the reception. What surprised me even more was that he was very polite and friendly (some DJs can be rather strong-headed in doing things the way they want but DJ Ollie was very open to what we wanted him to do). We also got many compliments for the DJ's music and style, especially someone who asked us for our DJ's contact information and another who was impressed with how DJ Ollie did his scratching and transitioned between songs nicely. The DJ did a wonderful job and I would recommend him and Scratchweddings to anyone!

DJ Eskada from Scratch Weddings did an absolutely WONDERFUL job at our wedding reception! (The Walters Art Museum 9/29/12) All of our requested songs for the bridal party entrance and dances were perfect. She got the "feel" that we wanted for our reception and kept the dance floor packed the entire night! All of our guests were commenting on how fantastic she was.

DJ Fernando S was phenomenal!!! At one point during the reception my Dad asked me if I gave him a list of songs to play or if he was just playing songs at random and I told him that he was picking them...my Dad was floored and said he was really really good. DJ Fernando S was really good at reading the room and my guests had an awesome time on the dance floor. On top of that, he did a great job with the announcement of my husband and I, which was a funny request to make it sound like we were being called from the bullpen at Yankee Stadium... sooooo fun!!!!

We used Dan at Scratch Weddings in NYC. Dan did a great job incorporating our requests into the playlist and the music flow was just how we hoped it would be all night. He even edited a live version of our favorite song to make it fit for our first dance. He was a lot of fun to work with and we would hire them again!!!

We had “DJ As One” for our wedding cocktail hour and reception at the Rosemont Manor in Berryville, VA and he was professional from the beginning to the end. His performance exceeded our expectations and with all the great wedding reviews he received, it's no surprise he was a pro at handling all the unexpected variables that come into play during the wedding day. From the moment we heard his music tracks, we knew he was the DJ best suited for us. The song selections he suggested for catering to our guests and wedding party was excellent and we can’t say enough good things about the job he did. We couldn't picture using or recommending a better DJ!

My husband is huge into music and it was very important that we had a top-notch DJ. We spoke with Scratch and liked what they had to offer so after receiving a list of available DJs, we met with one of them and really liked him so we booked him through Scratch. 2 months before the wedding we got a message that the DJ we chose had underperformed and was no longer with the company. Although we were disappointed, these things happen, and it's how the company handles such situations that matters. Fortunately for us, Scratch was very professional. They immediately sent us other available DJs and we ultimately booked DJ Cool Out and scheduled a meeting. He was very personable and really understood what we wanted. Scratch sent us worksheets to fill out with what we wanted, name pronunciations, must play, do not play, etc, and a week before the wedding we had a phone conference with Cool Out and Kimerie, our Scratch rep. We ironed out every detail and were confident coming off the call. The day of, everything went perfectly. The music was seamless and Cool Out kept the dance floor packed. We even had a situation with a crazy guest - the mother of the groom. After her stunts at my husband's brother's wedding and sister's wedding, we warned Cool Out about what she mught pull. My sister in law was hesitant because she also warned her DJ and he still let 3 "surprises" happen, but Cool Out was extremely professional and we were able to handle the situation without incident. Our guests loved him and said that after attending other, less seamless weddings, they truly appreciated what an amazing job Cool Out really did.

Working with Scratch was a seamless process -- they took care of everything and didn't let any small details fall through the cracks. DJ Morsey was amazing -- we got tons of compliments on the music. We'd definitely recommend him!

I can't say enough good things about this vendor. They are attentive and listen to what you want with regard to the music playing at your event and THEY DELIVER! One of the easiest things to deal with with my Wedding. We personally wanted to avoid the "DJ on the Mic" sort of thing that a lot of others tend to like when having a wedding DJ... we wanted more a club vibe with the music moving with the feel of the crowd.. DJ Alias was awesome and knew how to ride that wave. So so incredibly glad I found them! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!

Nothing has as much of an effect on setting the tone of your reception as the music and Scratch Weddings delivered 100%. We asked our DJ, DJ Schemes, to make it a non-stop dance party start to finish that guest of all ages would enjoy and that's exactly what he did. Some quotes from some of our guests: "I told myself I would go get a drink at the bar when there was a break in the music or a song came on that I didn't like and I was dancing for the next 45 minutes." - 70 year old friend of my parents "I never understood hiring a DJ when you could just make an iPod playlist and hook it up to some speakers, but this guy makes me see what effect a great DJ can have." - a groomsman Our DJ played the songs we wanted, kept the party moving, and everyone left feeling like it was an awesome time. They also set up the sound for the ceremony. The DJ was on time despite potential traffic problems due to our wedding location and everything was exactly as we discussed in the pre-wedding phone call. I couldn't give a higher recommendation to Scratch Weddings and DJ Schemes. The only tiny tiny tiny issue was that we would have liked to have talked everything through much earlier than they scheduled our phone call for and we had to go through a Scratch Weddings intermediary instead of just working directly with the DJ. (We did get to speak to the DJ directly on the phone before the wedding, though...it's just that all of the other business went through other people first.) Also, they were a little more expensive than other DJs, but you DEFINITELY get your money's worth in terms of DJ quality and peace of mind; the DJ was NOT one of the things we worried about because Scratch was so professional with us from start to finish.

I really can't say enough about Scratch Weddings and DJ Jon Blak. My biggest fear was that people wouldn't dance - and while my venue is gorgeous, it does have more of a "mingling" vibe than an all-night dance party. I shouldn't have given it a second thought. DJ Jon Blak not only had the crowd on the dance floor all night long, he did it to music that Frank and I loved and selected. He politely "bounced" all requests that we would have hated, and blended motown, metal and folk like he's been doing it his whole life. He had none of that awful DJ patter, and looked and sounded smooth as silk. My 84 year-old grandma says "I would hire that disc jockey for any party I throw." Her friends should be so lucky.

I had my doubts dealing with a place like this, I thought I could find a live band or DJ some other way in NYC, after all, this is NY and I have a few friends of friends, didn't want a cheesy wedding DJ, etc. I decided to give Scratch a try because of the other reviews I read. I was not disappointed. From the first conversation I felt like they were professional and knew what they were doing. You get thee DJ options after your initial conversation. They give you pictures and video clips of the DJ's themselves speaking to why they decided to do weddings-most if not all of the DJ's are actual DJs in the area, they do MORE than weddings-and they give you a sample of the DJ doing their thing. My husband and I took no time to agree on DJ Center. Next step, you meet with the DJ and a scratch rep to talk through things and see the DJ spin live. Again, a professional, knowledgeable, flexible process. They worked with me on a payment plan which I very much appreciated as we were paying for this ourselves-but it was worth every penny. DJ Center did not disappoint. During the wedding we had so many people, including my parents, who complimented the DJ, his music selections...he was entertaining and really read the crowd. At one point he even got my whole family on the dance floor, I almost died. I never thought I would see the day my dad shook his thing-ever-let alone a dance floor where there where other people around! Thank you Scratch for everything...you helped make our wedding day a success!!

We had DJ Stef Nova and she was FRIGGIN' AWESOME. So chill and totally got our vibe. Everyone said how much they loved the music.

I can't say enough good things about scratch weddings. I wanted perfection for the wedding and of all the things I had to worry about for my wedding, this was not one of them! They far exceeded expectations before and after the wedding! Pre wedding - Scratch weddings was incredibly professional - they thought of everything, were super organized and incredibly responsive to any of my questions or requests (they even found some crazy german music my german husband requested!). In short, they had everything under control. At the wedding - Our DJ (DJ Jon Blak) was perfect - I lost count of how many compliments I got on the music he played, his incredible announcing voice and how kind he was. I would HIGHLY recommend Scratch Weddings to anyone - I promise you won't regret it!

We hired Scratch Weddings for our August wedding and selected DJ Rell as our DJ. I emphasized to Scratch and DJ Rell that my husband and I LOVE music and dancing and they definitely took this to heart in setting the mood at our reception. The dance floor was never empty and everyone had a wonderful time! DJ Rell also made sure to play Spanish music for our families like we requested and it was just the right amount of variety. My husband and I, as well as our guests, had the BEST time at our wedding and Scratch & DJ Rell definitely contributed to that =) I would definitely recommend to family and friends :)

I enjoyed working with Scratch DJs. I had 3 weeks to find a DJ after we found out our first DJ didn't have insurance and therefore, could not provide services at the venue. Jen, Dana and DJ Kraff were all terrific! We couldn't have been happier.

I went with Scratch because I was familiar with the academy in New York and I knew they'd have real DJs, not someone who creates an iTunes list. I was not disappointed at all. I have always been a big music fan. The husband not so much. So this was very much my task. The whole Scratch organization is completely professional from the sales person, to the coordinator, to the DJ himself. They gave us 3 DJs to listen to and let us pick our favorite. We picked DJ Aristocat based on his musical choices and mixing ability. He was fantastic. He was very patient when I gave him my incredibly long list of music that I thought the guests would like (only a few must plays), and he did a great job reading the crowd and picking the right music at the right time. My more music-obsessed friends all told me he was great and I couldn't agree more. If you appreciate a DJ with vast musical taste and top notch mixing/beat-matching skills I highly recommend him.

So I live in California and I had a destination wedding in Miami. I thought it would was going to be difficult trying to find a DJ but I stumbled on Scratch weddings and filled out their online form, from there it was all-so-easy. Julie from Scratch weddings then contacted me and sent me some of their screened DJs in the Miami area. We then saw the different DJ recommendations and chose DJ Mike Kruz. He was AMAZING!!! DJ Mike Kruz surpassed our high expectations. So,my fiance and I wanted someone who was going to be fun and versatile because his family is a little conservative and my family isn't. But we both knew that we wanted everyone to dance. And that's exactly what Mike did. We just let Mike know what we wanted and didn't want and he did the rest. We booked him for the the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. My guest were talking about how great the music was for cocktail hour and then he had everyone sweating on the dance floor. It was perfect. All in all it was worth the $$$. If i could do it over again, I still would chose Scratch weddings with DJ Mike Kruz.

DJ Cool Out did an awesome job! I've never seen a dance floor so packed as it was at our wedding! He also was the DJ for my cousins wedding and it was equally as awesome!

Our DJ (Tracktion) and the team at Scratch (Monica and Dana) were very easy to work with, great knowledge of music, very helpful with overall planning details, and, to top it off, the most reasonably priced of all the DJs we contacted. We would readily recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding DJ.

We had DJ Dan Chaves, and could not have asked for better. I just got back from a wedding where they missed the music cues to play the entrance songs and actually forgot to play some songs. With Scratch you get professional DJs that understand the importance of the day and really make sure to do their part. DJ Dan also knew how to read the crowd to play the slower or faster or more current songs, which was perfect. Everyone had an amazing time dancing towards the end of the night. Their responsiveness is amazing as well.

If you want your wedding to be the best party you've ever been to, then you need to hire a DJ from Scratch Weddings. We were lucky enough to have DJ Schemes travel from D.C. to Richmond for our summer wedding, and it was so worth every penny! The dance floor was packed from start to finish, and Schemes was fantastic. He provided a mash-up of old school hip-hop and stuff you hear on the radio now. He jumped in to help my hubby and I with our first dance song (which was a last minute change) without missing a beat. The entire experience with scracth weddings was flawless. Would recommend and hire them for any future events.

My husband and I wanted a DJ who was not your typical wedding DJ, one that could mix, get people on the dance floor, and have a club/party like feel. And that is what we got! DJ As One (Art) was fabulous and had everyone on the dance floor...even in 109 degree heat! Highly recommend Scratch DJs!

Working with Scratch was AMAZING! The whole process went smoothly and it was a lot of fun. Dana (our correspondent) made sure everything was just what we wanted. Choosing the DJ was a great experience too. It was fun to view videos and read about the DJs to choose the best fit for us. We ended up choosing DJ Ollie to spin at our wedding and we were blown away! Having a few conversations with DJ Ollie and Dana prior to the wedding really let them know our tastes and likes and the feeling we were going for. They listened to our vision for the day and once the day of the wedding came, DJ Ollie did not disappoint. He played all the songs we wanted to hear, a great mix. Our dance floor was PACKED the whole night! Everyone raved about how fun the wedding was and a huge part of that is because DJ Ollie really rocked. I would definitely recommend Scratch Weddings & DJ Ollie in particular, if you're in the NJ/NY area.

Amazing... All I have to say is that our friend and family still talk about how much fun they had at our wedding. From beginning all the way to the end of the night, our DJ did an amazing job.

I'm surprised the amount of stars I'm giving here is as high as it is. I will say this, they are extremely responsive and always answer my emails immediately. The only reason why I didn't give them no stars professionalism and flexibility is that they did refund some of our money. Onto my review of Scratch. We had a tight budget for our wedding and decided that our splurge item would be the DJ. Scratch's promise of Marquee DJ's that weren't overly corny seemed like the perfect match for us. All of our meetings with scratch went great and they even sent us to see the DJ spin. He was awesome when we saw him so we went into the wedding worrying about everything else and not the DJ. On top of that, all of the reviews of Scratch were stellar so we knew this was a great choice in vendor. The ceremony was okay, a minor glitch in the queuing of songs but something so slight, it was only noticeable to us. The cocktail hour went great. Then the reception happened... names were pronounced wrong during the introductions, the first dance song couldn't be played, and the biggest embarrassment of all- to mask the lack of first dance songs- the dj opened the mic up for speeches. Something we specifically asked him not to do. Only half of our playlist was played, some of the songs were very questionable, and some of our do not play list got played. I don't know what happened. Sometimes people mess up and then get nervous and can't get back on track. That's my only guess here because like I said, we saw him spin. We know he's talented. Unfortunately our situation was embarrassing and a huge disappointment. During the ceremony, everyone saw him running around, scrambling for cables, and even trying to find our music on itunes. It was just all a mess and it was the item we were most looking forward to.

DJ Aristocat (John) was awesome! He listened to us and our music worksheet the whole way through. Probably the best wedding DJ ever...!

My husband Alex and I got married this past June at the Foundry. We were impressed with DJ Stef Nava and the entire Scratch Weddings crew from start to finish. Scratch was quick to answer any of my questions, and one of the few vendors that I dealt with that e-mailed me to keep things going on schedule before I e-mailed them (and when you’re already a busy bride, that is really appreciated). They made sure that they were 110% prepared. On the day of the wedding, Stef was amazing. All of our guests, young and old, were out on the floor dancing and having a great time. Several guests came up to me and told me that she was the best DJ they’d ever heard and that it was the most fun they’d ever had a wedding. Stef played a lot of my suggestions, but also mixed up it up with tracks she picked that blended well with our choices. The whole time, the music still felt like a reflection of my husband and I as a couple, and I really appreciated that. I would whole-heartedly recommend Scratch to any couples looking for a great wedding music.

DJ As-One can be booked through Scratch Weddings which is based in NY, NY but also serves the DC area. He was awesome. Everyone loved the music and people actually danced. He is highly recommended.

Scratch Weddings provided the entertainment for our evening. Dana was our day to day coordinator and DJ RT was our artist. In general, as a team they were great. Dana was quick to respond to questions, very helpful with keeping track of upcoming deadlines and a pleasure to work with. We were certain of what we didn't want - a carnival barker type DJ who would get people into endless conga lines..... Oy!!!! We also wanted someone who knew music VERY well - 40's through contemporary - and could seamlessly merge the generations' music. Scratch provided a pretty cool DJ match service where, via questionnaire, they helped fine tune your DJ selection and guide you to the best fit for your event. DJ RT was a great guy and knew his music well. He was able to take all of our suggestions, requests, etc., and make the evening exactly what we wanted. He was very helpful as we decided what the entrance songs for the bridal party would be, and worked pretty tirelessly to show us multiple edits of each song. He was prompt on the day of, and followed our requests to a T. And when it came time to announce the wedding and bridal party, he even got all the name pronunciations right!!!! All our guests loved the music, and he kept people of all generations on the dance floor all night!!!! My only comment is that I would have really liked to speak with DJ RT much sooner. We had our first consultative call about one week prior to our wedding, and although i had filled out a music form, and had been in touch with Dana, I felt like meeting RT was an important piece, and it did feel a bit rushed to me. Had we done it even one week earlier, it would have been a much more relaxed experience. BUT, all in all, I loved working with this team and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a professional DJ. The pros definitely outweigh the one con and they were amazing!!!! The single most important decision for me for our wedding was the music since I love to dance and so do the people around me. Scratch was amazing from the beginning giving us a selection of DJs that aligned with our music type - it was hard to select among the choices, but we're so happy that we selected DJ JVC. He was absolutely amazing and everyone had a great time! The only time people were not up dancing was during dinner. Everyone is still raving about how great he was and how, mostly because of him, our wedding was the most fun people have been to in a while. He knew how to read the crowd, the music blended perfectly from one song to the next, and he respected all our wishes that we discussed prior to the wedding. He also had very limited time to set everything up at our vendor due to a wedding just before mine, but he was able to get everything done without delay and did three sets for us: Ceremony on the beach, cocktail hour and reception music. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone looking to have a great party!

I was mostly pleased with my DJ. DJ Eskada read the crowd, honored requests, and created a great playlist based on the mini song list we provided. However, I wished that we would have been able to meet earlier than one week prior to the wedding, as I felt like there was so much going on that week, and I didn't have time to truly focus on the specifics for the DJ. I would have preferred two sessions, as I felt unprepared for many of the questions that came up during our phone meeting, and I would have liked to take a lot of the questions back to think about them and re-group a second time to discuss. One of these matters was the first dance. I was asked if I wanted the full song to play or if we could cue the DJ when we wanted her to cut it. We agreed on the phone that I would look over at her and subtly cue if the song was getting too long. I looked over several times towards the end of the song, but the DJ was looking down each time, and we ended up dancing to the entire song anyway. The same goes for the mother/son and father/daughter dance. In addition, we had discussed the DJ being partial emcee as well. I asked her to not only announce the wedding party, but also engage the crowd lightly, asking people to dance, etc. I felt like the DJ didn't do any emceeing besides making announcements at the beginning of the reception, and then the cake cutting and end of the night announcements. It ended up being fine, as our guests danced on their own, but I would have appreciated my instructions being followed.

We used Scratch DJs for our May 2012 wedding, and DJ Cool Out (Chris) was our DJ. He was phenomenal! We loved the music he played, our guests were dancing, and everyone had a great time. They were not your typical cheesy wedding DJ company where you have some middle-aged guy named Todd who shows up in an ugly vest and plays YMCA and Let's Get it Started all night (but if that was what you wanted, I am sure they could accomodate you!) DJ Cool Out and the team at Scratch were professional and thorough at every step, taking time to talk to us about exactly the vibe and songs we were looking for, and creating a plan for the announcements throughout the night. DJ Cool Out was super responsive when I made some last minute changes to the order of events mid-reception. When one of our groomsmen requested a Soul train line, he didn't blink and spun it flawlessly. It is one of my favorite memories of the night. Just wonderful! The only reason I took them down a notch on value is because they were slightly more expensive than the competition, even with a Groupon. However, do what you can do get them in your budget. No one really cares what the flowers look like, but they will remember if you had a great DJ like DJ Cool Out!

We used DJ JVC. I would recommend him and SCratch in a heartbeat. The night was flawless. He listened, improvised and was perfect. The day of coordinator Dana was also excellent. They basiucally hold your hand through the process. Zero snagfu's would use again in a heartbeat.

Scratch Weddings and DJ Drew Izm definitely brought our wedding to the next level. Charlottesville, VA doesn't have a wide range of DJ options, especially for the wide range of music we were hoping to play [Hip Hop, R&B, 80's, Funk, Soul and the Beach Boys] Initially, the folks at Scratch Weddings [Kimerie, Dana and Monica] offered quite a few new & fresh options to us, but ultimately we found Drew Izm through a separate search just before he joined Scratch Weddings. I'd call it serendipity. Scratch Weddings was on the ball with the accountability pieces: logistics, equipment, professionalism etc. so you definitely know that those bases are covered. The price is also fair if you book early [more than 9 months out] from there, all you have to worry about is the music. They also provided PA system for the ceremony for a little extra, but the audio quality was worth it. On to the reception: My wife will tell you that I am a music junkie....very hard to please. I'm usually the one making the playlists for the parties etc. so it was tough giving the reins over to someone else for the BIG DAY, but if there's anyone that can make it ALL GOOD its Drew Izm. He took our massive playlist and managed to play just about every song on it via some excellent mixing and impeccable song timing. He had his finger on the pulse on the crowd and knew when to play what and for how long...so we didn't get "too much" of a song...never too little either...it was just right all night. The dance floor was bumpin as soon as MJ started playing. All of our guests [and I mean all of them] commented on how great the DJ was...and these are some hard-to-please people as well ;-) The biggest problem people had was figuring out when to take a break, since each jam was better than the last one! Drew even went the extra mile and recorded his live mix to an .mp3 file that he sent to us after the wedding, so we always have his tunes to jam to on every anniversary....or the next cook-out. Needless to say, We highly recommend Drew Izm and Scratch Weddings to tend to every musical need on your wedding day.

Scratch Weddings (and especially our DJ As-One, out of the DC Metro area) provided great entertainment for our wedding. As-One spun continuously through the entire night and was great on tailoring the music to the various crowds (starting off with older hits and then moving to fresher stuff as it got later). As-One was great with transitions, with feeling out what worked with the crowd and what didn't, and kept the dance floor fairly busy the entire night. It was pretty cool to have a real club-style DJ at the wedding and we got a lot of positive comments on his performance. It also helped he was a really nice guy! In terms of the paperwork, DJ finding process, and scheduling, Scratch Weddings was very responsive and professional. They clearly have this process down. We were slightly concerned about the entire process because you don't actually meet with your DJ (outside of preparatory conference calls) until the day of the wedding but everything turned out fine. The only minor negative was that DJ As-One mispronounced the bride's last name (after we had provided pronunciations in writing and over the phone). Some of our guests noticed but it wasn't a big deal. For any DJ / band, we'd recommend that couples confirm name pronunciations on the day of the wedding.

The best wedding DJ I have ever seen! Scratch Weddings was so professional and really helpful in choosing the right DJ for our music tastes and personal style. We loved our DJ and never saw anyone sitting down the whole night. The cost was very reasonable and we always felt they were very organized. They will help you choose the perfect DJ for you in your area. They were so great! They really give you a hands on approach to picking your music and how the night will flow! the DJ's also know how to read the crowd and have fun with everyone without being cheesy.

Scratch Weddings was great to work with. From our phone conversations to our first meeting, and email correspondence, they were very professional and prompt with their responses. Our DJ, DJ Arisa, was phenomenal. She played everything we requested and also added her own touches which was great. Our guests had a great time. If you don't want the cheesy emcee and DJ that plays music off their iPod, Scratch Weddings is the way to go.

For a bunch of the categories above, I would give more than 5 stars if I could! I was a ridiculously disorganized bride, and on top of that my dad got really sick a few months before my wedding so for a while I thought I was going to cancel the big wedding and have a small ceremony so my dad could be there. I was so non-commital for so long with Scratch Weddings, but Kat& DJ Dan were beyond professional& flexible. They were super nice &responsive throughout the process. They guided me through everything&are unbelievably knowledgeable about so many kinds of music. I was originally going to choose a DJ that wasn't connected to a DJ company because I was afraid Scratch would be generic/cheesy/corporate. But once I spoke to Kat I realized that Scratch isn't like that --this isn't your Bat Mitzvah DJ!Their DJs are well-known& are career DJs--DJ Dan knew my venue&seemed excited for my night-he was great at introducing us&guiding guests to their tables&through the events of the night. His presence most definitely added to my night. I HIGHLY recommend Scratch Weddings -- the next time I need a DJ I will be going back to Scratch for sure.

Other than pronouncing our names incorrectly upon our introduction as man and wife for the first time, DJ-S1 kept the floor pumping for a good portion of the night and many of our guests told us how much they loved it, that's what mattered the most. Thank you!

I HIGHLY recommend Scratch Weddings for your DJ services. DJ Trife played our wedding on 11/11/11 and he was AMAZING. Our guests danced during the entire reception...all the way up until 1 am. He had a very diverse mix of music, and was able to change it up based on the preferences of our guests. Dana was our Music Coordinator, and she made sure that every detail was handled professionally. I cannot recommend this company enough! I agree with previous reviewers in that dealing with this company was the easiest thing about planning my wedding (which was so appreciated since planning a wedding in Miami from a different state is not that enjoyable). Their advertisements are totally accurate. For example, NO cheese! I was so worried about having a cheesy wedding dj. The djs they provided were real Miami club djs, but they also know how to cater to what is required of a wedding, in a totally sophisticated way. I chose DJ Supersede. He was COMPLETELY AMAZING!! I used him for my ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. He was on point the entire night. I gave him a lot of latitude for the cocktail hour and he nailed it. We had discussed very rat pack/Ocean’s 11/swanky South Beach nightclub-type music. And man did he deliver. I also gave him a list of my favorite songs that I wanted to hear during the reception and he used that to determine the type of music I like and he, again, he was right on point. Everyone was raving about how great the music was. Having a “real” dj there also seemed to add an air of sophistication to the wedding, which was great. Scratch also touts themselves as having “unmatched professionalism.” Again, this could not be more accurate. I dealt with Monica initially, then Dana. Both were unbelievable friendly and helpful, and were great in guiding me through the process. I really wish more businesses were run like this one. It was so great to deal with people who know what they are doing, are highly responsive, and seem to actually understand customer service. Kudos to Scratch!

Scratch was THE PERFECT DJ company for our wedding. Both Kat and Dana were incredibly helpful in the months leading up to the wedding, and DJ Dan Chaves did an insane job spinning our night. He really listened to our requests, splicing together our favorite songs, genres, and even some stuff we love, but simply never thought to include. He was half DJ, half mindreader. Multiple times that night and even more times in the following days, family and friends have asked where we found Dan. We were and are pleased to recommend Dan and Scratch 100%.

DJ Bounce conducted our ceremony and reception music. He was a pleasure to work and very professional. I definitely would recommend using Scratch Weddings.

I had DJ Select for my wedding. He did a great job and read the crowd very well. My husband and I have a broad range in our musical taste, but our guests may not always agree. DJ Select took all of our suggestions and tailored it to the response of our guests on the dance floor. Song transitions were also very important to us and Select was absolutely seamless. During dinner service, the volume was lowered as not to interfere. We had a conference call to make sure we were all on the same page. Scratch provided a list of songs for suggestions, which was so helpful. We were also put at ease knowing there was a backup DJ in case anything happened.

I really loved Scatch and our DJ As-One. All of the guests had the best time because he was able to read his audience and play all the music we had requested. The only reason I didn't give five stars on every category is that he messed up our processional music. Fortunately no one but my husband and I noticed but because we had worked so hard on the music it was a bummer to hear it botched like it was. Other than that, everything was awesome about this company. Everyone we worked with was very professional and met all of our needs. I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them highly.

Working with Scratch Weddings was the least stressful and most fun part of the planning process! Everybody was so helpful and really worked with us to make sure we had exactly what we wanted on our wedding day! The day of our wedding, DJ Trife was totally reading the crowd and playing everything they wanted to hear. Some of my family members didn't sit down the entire evening. He provided the perfect soundtrack to our wedding day and helped to make it as memorable as it was! People are still talking about how awesome the music was!

Fuse was awesome. The tone for the night was set from the very first dance and the floor stayed full the entire time from there on... Unheard of! Comments and compliments about his song selections came rolling in immediately after the reception ended and have not stopped. It's pretty tough to get a diverse crowd of ages and cultures dancing together to music they don't typically enjoy, but there was absolutely no barrier on the dance floor. It was amazing! I've worked with Scratch in the past on different events, so I was trusting of the process to begin with, but Fuse was an absolute fit for the vibe we were seeking and he provided it and more... not to mention, some of the single ladies later asked about him..

Scratch wedding was the best option for us when deciding upon a wedding DJ. We wanted someone who would be on par with our music preferences and the general atmosphere of the wedding. We were able to speak with our DJ on the phone and meet him in person at a local hip diner where he spins on the weekends. We loved working with DJ CoolOut and he read our crowd like a true DJ. Turns out the older crowd had the most fun at our wedding and CoolOut was able to merge our song choices with who was up off their chairs and getting down!

We went with DJ Dan Chavez...great ability to read the crowd, skillful song transitions and knowledge of how the party should flow. We only had a slight issue with one song we had requested being a different version (but honestly, the versions were so close, it wasn't a big deal at all), but after the last song of the night, our guests were shouting for an encore. Need I say more?

We were so happy we decided to book with Scratch. They were very responsive and professional and when we were introduced to DJ JVC, we knew we made the right choice. Both my husband and I are really into music, and wanted to plan most of the songs played at our wedding. We were shocked how many DJ services gave us the line "You can make requests, but we know what people want to hear." Scratch was totally different. They welcomed our suggestions and indeed played just about all of them, throwing in some fun surprises as well. We have kind of eclectic taste - indie rock, hip hop, '60s soul - and DJ Jeff worked them all together brilliantly. Best of all he had everyone dancing, from our friends to our parents friends. I had 3 people ask me to burn them CDs of our music, all from different generations. While they are slightly more expensive than a lot of other DJ services, I think Scratch was worth it, and I would definitely recommend them to any music lover planning a wedding.

DJ Stef Nava is great! The week before the wedding, we asked her to help us pull together ceremony and cocktail hour music, as well as the music for the reception for the wedding and she brought everything she needed to pull that all together. She was a little late on cueing some entrance music for our bridal party, but she really got the crowd going all night. Our contact Dana was a pleasure to work with as well – very responsive and respectful.

DJ Chris CoolOut was FANTASTIC!! He really listened to what we wanted in our music selection and created a spectacular playlist that kept our wedding guests on the dance floor all night long! Some of guests told me that hadn't danced in 20 years but they couldn't stay in their seats that night. Scratch Weddings was also awesome off the dance floor. They were soo easy to work with, really took time to find out exactly what we wanted and made sure we were satisfied and comfortable with the plans. Even when we requested an additional speaker setup for a dance performance 2 days before the wedding, they quickly responded and were able to deliver for us at no additional charge. We had a fabulous experience with DJ A-Run for our wedding in Philadelphia this July. He was extremely professional, playing the music we requested, none of the music we put on our "do not play list," and really catering to the crowd. In order to find such a great match, Scratch Weddings consulted with us over the phone about our music tastes and what we wanted for our wedding, sent us samples of a couple of DJs, and we chose from there. Since the wedding, many of our guests have asked how we found such an amazing DJ!

DJ Alias spins in NYC and was able to provide a dance party for us that was the time of our lives! He had everyone dancing and kept everyone happy! We had DJ A-Run for our wedding. He was amazing! Monica was great helping us set everything up with A-Run, and A-Run was so professional and courtesy listening to us while we discussed what we wanted at our wedding. DJ ChrisMix was great and we were really happy with an active dance floor right up until the venue closed. Scratch weddings has a lot of great DJs to offer, but getting them to travel outside of the major cities can involve a lot of extra work.

We hired Scratch to spin our wedding because we wanted a real club-style, fun environment. We checked out their website and were thoroughly impressed with the sample mixes they had posted. Scratch was absolutely thorough with us. We had two phone meetings with our DJ (As-One), facilitated by Scratch management. They helped guide us through the process of planning our evening. They were very open to our varied and diverse taste in music, and everything that was played at the wedding went over very well. Our DJ couldn't have been nicer. He was on time and ready to roll when our reception was set to begin. He really did a great job of getting everyone up and dancing through most of the night--without having to resort to cheesy line-dance kind of music, which we really didn't want. Our only (very slight) negative comment was that we talked through the order of things in advance (entrances, first dances, and when speeches were supposed to happen) and we still had to prompt the DJ to announce some of those events. It wasn't a terribly big deal, as everyone was having fun. But if you're a stickler for exactly how you want the evening run (and you don't have a wedding coordinator to move things along smoothly) you might want to be very very explicit about how and when you want things to happen. As-One was more than willing to do whatever we asked, so it wasn't a problem. But it might have been a little better to have the DJ in charge of the overall event. We would hire them again in a heartbeat, though, and we highly recommend them.

The support/sales staff for Scratch Weddings were a pleasure to work with. Very professional and courteous. They responded to emails and questions quickly and that is all you can ask for. The conference call with the DJ a few weeks before the wedding was useful as well to just go over any details that were necessary. On the day of the wedding, the DJ (S-1) arrived in a timely manner to set up his equipment before the guests arrived to the reception. He did a good job of taking our song list and balancing it with the requests from our friends and family. Sometimes, you just have to give the DJ the leeway in reading the crowd. S-1 was even nice enough to let a close friend who had DJ experience spin a short set. All in all, I was happy to have S-1 of Scratch Weddings spin our reception.

We contacted Scratch because we wanted more of a club-vibe for our wedding. From the very beginning, they were extremely professional and responsive. We had multiple tele-conferences with he account managers at Scratch and our local DJ. They really listened to they type of music we wanted and the overall vibe. We were really happy with the final result. Highly recommended!

DJ Dan Chaves of Scratch Weddings completely rocked out my wedding!! Not only was he so helpful in formulating our list of songs for the wedding, but he was so so nice and accomodating on the day of the wedding and really did a great job of feeling the vibe of the room and playing in to that. All of our friends and family kept complimenting us on the DJ and how well he mixed everything together - there was never a lull and it was absolutely perfect! If I could give six stars, I absolutely would!!

Honestly was at a loss until I found this company through a random email. We had been to another company prior, with them showing us all their bells and whistles and pricy items. On top of it they were just pushy. So being back at square one, I inquired about the Scratch wedding DJ. I filled out a simple form and BOOM! A representative called me that day asking me questions and what my budget was. They are located in NY but have DJs everywhere, even in Orange County, Ca! Everything was done flawlessly over the phone and email. She sent me pictures of DJs and samples of their work. I picked DJ Fuze and we were on our way! Had a couple of conference calls with Fuze and sent over songs I wished to play at the wedding. When the day came everything went down without a hitch! The cocktail music, the announcements, and the dancing music. He coordinated with our caterer/planner and it was perfect! Everyone was on the dance floor having a great time! The price was reasonable and the quality was excellent! Don't fall for those dog and pony shows. Scratch weddings know what to do! Thanks DJ Fuze! You made our wedding a party we'll never forget!

I highly recommend Scratch DJs for weddings or any other event. The staff and our DJ, Dan Chavez, worked with us to throughout our entire planning process to ensure that the music would reflect our range of music interests (dirty southern hip hop, mainstreem hip hop, indie rock, reggae, 80s, doowop) and keep our guests dancing. They were so nice and organized and the music was incredible. He was so good at reading the crowd that we had old folk dancing to Lil Jon. Thank you so much for helping us throw a rocking party!

My husband and I got married in May 2011. We couldn't be more happy with DJ Cool Out, who we had deejay for us through Scratch Weddings. He was able to respect my husband's musical taste, but still get everyone out on the dance floor. I think even the non-dancers got out for at least one dance! Many of our friends and family commented on the great music selection and the emceeing skills of our DJ. Again, we couldn't be more happy with our experience with DJ Cool Out!!

I ended up booking DJ Fuse about 3 weeks before my wedding because of all the issues I'd had with another DJ and he was so perfect! Scratch Weddings is so organized and professional, I had every confidence they'd have a very professional, perfect DJ. If you're not into the cheesy, typical wedding DJ, Scratch Weddings is for you!

We had to fire our original dj within a few months of our wedding and had reservations. I called a spoke to Scratch and within minutes my mind was at ease. DJ Cool Out exceeded all expectations. He did a fantastic job reading what our guests liked and the dance floor was packed all night. Everyone kept saying what a great time they had and they wanted to know who the company was. We couldn't be happier. Everything was amazing and not having to worry about the music just made the day so much more enjoyable. Using Scratch Wedding was the best decision that I made with my wedding. We used DJ JVC and no exaggeration, he absolutely made my wedding reception! I choose Scratch Weddings because I wanted something different for my wedding, not the typical wedding music. DJ Vida Ventura played at my wedding. The music started on the wrong foot. It first starting at the Ceremony when the "Wedding March" before the breaking of the glass (a big no-no). Then during the reception, the music was all over the place. It was a mess, when I entered the ballroom, I couldn't even hear the music, it was all muffled. I was upset when I couldn't hear the music peacefully to our first dance. I had to say something to correct the issue, which didn't go over well with the groom and wedding coordinator. DJ was MIA when plates were taken from table and everyone was ready to dance. Very amateurish, no "scratching" or mixing music at my wedding, my Ipod shuffle could have played just as well as her. By the last hour, I noticed all my songs from my list started playing, she tried to squeeze them in at the last minute. It was too late, because cake was served and people started to go home. Boring wedding- everything i didn't want to have. Thank you Scratch Weddings for the most boring wedding of the year. I regret not going with a typical Wedding DJ with the obnoxious MC and spending the extra money. My mistake for trusting Scratch Weddings. I'm still waiting on a follow-up after addressing my concerns.

We had a very positive experience working with Scratch Weddings. From the very beginning we were impressed with their professionalism and response time. Most people have some random old guy with a cheap tuxedo on, and a giant laser light set up - we wanted class, and we chose the right DJ company for the job. Our account manager ensured that we had the right DJ, and they were meticulous about our tastes and how the evening would be planned. DJ Dan was able to incorporate all types of music at the right times to keep the party jumping - he was even able to take our requests on the spot and put it into the mix. The party was so much fun that at the end, the entire party started chanting "one more song" - I had never experienced that before at a wedding, and it just goes to show you that DJ Dan definitely knew what he was doing. I would not hesitate to recommend Scratch to anyone who wants to have a real party, and not just a "wedding reception". It was one part of our wedding that was really stress free - knowing that true professionals were handling the music, and not that random guy with a turntables, lights, and speakers.

Of all the choices a couple needs to make in the wedding planning process, choosing the right DJ was the easiest for us. I've attended many weddings in the past (at a certain point, more than 10 in one year!) and so, I had a pretty good idea of what I would have wanted for my wedding music when the time came. We definitely did not want a wedding DJ that needed to use silly gimmicks or assistants in costumes to get the crowd going - we just wanted a great DJ that could read the crowd and work them up through mixing good music. We were already familiar with Scratch because a friend of ours had used them for their wedding a couple of years ago. We had originally requested the same DJ that we heard at our friend's wedding, but he was unavailable. This made me a bit nervous since we had about 400 guests to entertain, and we wanted to make sure that whoever we got would be able to work a crowd up. We had some friends that naturally loved to dance, but we also had a good amount of people that needed to warm up to the very idea of dancing. Scratch listened to our concerns, along with our music tastes, and suggested DJay Jung for us. After interviewing him and following up with other references, we booked him for our wedding, which took place in March. DJay Jung turned out to be the right choice for us. He was great at reading the crowd and getting the party going. By the end of the night, the dance floor was still filled with people (mostly sober, too!) and the only disappointment was that we didn't book him for a longer period. We received many compliments on the reception afterwards - on how fun it was and how great the DJ was. The true testimonials came in when we started receiving a few inquiries from others who were planning their weddings and had heard great things about our wedding DJ from our attendees. I rated Scratch/DJay Jung highest on all but one category - 'value.' The only reason why I gave this 4 stars was that we were on a tight budget and felt that it could've been a better value if Scratch also provided or included lighting equipment when we booked. Coming out from it and knowing that our guests enjoyed their time at our wedding, however, made every penny worth it.

When I first spoke with Scratch Events, I explained the type of music I liked and they recommended a DJ for me based on our conversation. I could not have asked for a better DJ, he did an amazing job and completely understood what I wanted. He had the dance floor packed the entire night, played everything I asked for and more. He new exactly what to play at the right time. Everyone (including my parents and their friends) have not stopped talking about how great our DJ was. Our friends had a blast dancing, and I could not be happier with how the night went. There was one point when I took a look around the room, and there wasn't one person sitting in their seat. It was awesome. Our entire experience working with Scratch Events and DJ Shannon was excellent, I would recommend Scratch Events over and over again. They contacted me to ask me for information on music at certain milestones until our wedding date, they were so organized and professional.

I love Scratch Weddings! From the beginning, they worked with me step by step to make my wedding special. Their representatives were super-professional, kept in touch regularly, guided me through the process, and were very committed to what I wanted for my wedding (i.e. not pushy at all). I worried about music most of all and they made it easy. The DJ they provided (Ani Quinn) was excellent--professional, friendly, and open to all our requests. We had an eclectic group of guests and his music choices appealed to everyone. Price-wise, they were comparable and reasonable. I highly recommend them!

From the song selection process to the actual wedding, DJayJung at Scratch Weddings was very helpful and courteous--an absolute pleasure to talk to, very resourceful and talented. Received comments form the guests about how excellent the DJ was.

I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism, quality of service, attention to detail, friendliness and talent that Scratch Weddings provides. Devon Stein was an all-star account manager and DJ JVC was amazing to work with. His transitions kept everyone on the dance floor and there wasn't a minute that it was cleared. Everyone was so flexible and easy to work with. I highly recommend working with this operation and the two aforementioned individuals in particular.

DJ Flo was amazing from start to finish. He was always able to talk before the wedding and made us feel comfortable in the planning process of the wedding. Once the day arrived he read the crowd so well and everyone was raving about how good the music was! My husband and I couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. Scratch Events is the ONLY way to go if you want to have awesome wedding music!!!!

Scratch Events was awesome from start to finish! Not only was DJ AsOne a perfect fit for the event but Kat (our sales rep) was a dream to work with! I will use Scratch Events for future events and would recommend them to anyone who wants a professional club quality DJ for their event!

Everyone loved Dj Grafitti and said I threw the best wedding they have ever been to. My wedding planner wanted to work with him again and recommend him to other brides. Everyone was up on the floor dancing, from the very young to very old. Everyone was having fun! I am from LA and I had so many people flying in, I didn't want someone to do the macarena or the chicken dance. DJ Grafitti was AMAZING and could read the crowd. BTW this vendor is more than just NY, they have DJs in Chicago, Detroit, etc.

My experience with Scratch was awful for our wedding. My husband and I didn't want the cheesy wedding dj that everyone gets so we decided to book Scratch, but unfortunately they did not follow through. Our DJ NEVER contacted me prior to the wedding. We met only once months prior to the wedding and he did a brief demo and played the music we had asked for but on the wedding day, didn't play anything like that. I specifically said no pop music. So I really don't understand why he would decide to play an entire set of 80's pop. My husband and coordinator approached him SEVERAL times to tell him to change the music and still he didn't play what we discusses. NO ONE danced all night. It was terrible and I'm hoping that my guests had a good time since it didn't look like it. My friends all commented on how bewildered they were by the music playing since it was not my taste at all. He also played the wrong song for our first dance..he played our entrance song instead. In the moment, I have no idea what played when we came out. We listened to half of that song standing on the dance floor until he finally figured out how to change it to the right song..basically ruining the moment while our guests sat confused. We were also concerned prior about any annoucements that the DJ would need to make and were assured that he previously worked in radio and would be excellent, well unfortunately that's not true either. We couldn't even hear him! I was telling my guests what he was saying so they would know..not something I wanted to do on my wedding day! We had a special dessert area that most people didn't even know about unless I was able to tell them so that money was wasted as people didn't take home the desserts as excepted since they never even knew. The only reason I give them any stars is that Kat, the contact I worked with was great. She was very responsive and I supposed I needed her there to help the DJ do his job. When my husband and I think back to our wedding, we think about how awful the music was. I did tell them after the wedding about our experience and they gave us $200 back..not enough for ruining the entire atmosphere and livelyhood of the reception. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Our experience working with Scratch was nothing less than wonderful. You were one of the most easy going yet professional vendors we worked with. Kat Parker went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were being met and that we would be matched with the DJ most appropriate for the feel we were trying to achieve at our wedding. DJ Qool Marv was all of this and then some, professional and easy going and totally attuned to the type of party we wanted. He more than delivered and we are so grateful! Everyone had a blast and danced the night away, which was all that we wanted. Thanks again!

Music has always been a very important part our lives and so it was especially important for us to find the right DJ for our wedding reception. We went with Scratch at the recommendation of a friend and are so glad we did. DJ Dan Chaves was amazing to work with and gave us the best party ever. Our wedding had a lot of different age groups present so it was really crucial to find someone that could please everyone and keep all ages on the dance floor the entire night. Dan succeeded in a big way. He weaved and mixed all the genres we requested seamlessly. It was perfect! Scratch Weddings matched us with a great DJ and delivered beyond our expectations. Thank You!

Jimmy was an excellent DJ (DJ JVC). He worked with me before the event to make sure we were on the same page with what we wanted. During the evening he played great music, worked well with the crowd, and handled all requests. The dance floor was the place to be all night, and after the wedding several guests let me know how much they enjoyed the DJ.

We couldn't have been happier with our experience with Scratch. They were a pleasure to work with and DJ JVC was AMAZING at the wedding. My husband and I are ex-nyc hipster/music snob types, who were worried about having a cheesy dj who played only top 40. Scratch is cool, classy and professional. Great taste that's unique, but appealed to all age groups. We're heard nothing but glowing reviews from friends and family. I was actually sore all weekend from dancing so much at our wedding. Our pictures taken on the dance floor are by far the best in our wedding album. Also, the Sales/Management staff at Scratch are incredibly helpful and responsive. They offered up great ideas and worked well with my wedding venue. Planning a wedding can be very stressful, but my DJ was something I didn't have to sweat because Scratch was so great.

Our wedding DJ was Vida. We had a couple of conversations with the coordinator, Kat, and with Vida and we felt very comfortable that Vida understood what we really did and didn't like in terms of music. My husband and I first bonded over our love of the same bands / music, so having the right music was important for us. The best comment / compliment we received from a guest was that the songs definitely reflected our music tastes. So, on that score, I think that's what a DJ is supposed to do - they should know your tastes, but also know how to read a crowd and get a crowd dancing. I was a little annoyed at one point when one song was played incorrectly, but hey - I think only ONE person noticed besides us, and anyways, that qualified as the biggest "disaster" of the day. As in, it hardly constitutes a disaster when 99% of the guests didn't notice. But that was the only problem and in fairness, I probably should have had a direct conversation with the DJ (should have taken all of five minutes) before the wedding. I recommend Scratch if you don't want some old guy with a paunch, a weird goatee, and a music collection entirely from one or two decades ago spinning tunes for you.
