Valerie and her team listened to all of our concerns and delivered exactly what we asked for. They were happy to meet with us as many times as requested prior to our event and they were very quick to reply to questions. Claudia was also a pleasure to work with on our ceremony music. We were thrilled with the music throughout the entire event and our guests had a blast as well. It has almost been three weeks since our wedding and we are still getting phone calls raving about the band! Thank you Starlight!

Valerie Romanoff and Starlight Orchestras are amazing. They met every request we had and were a pleasure to work with. Everyone that attended our wedding was blown away. The music was so amazing that everyone was dancing all night and did not want to stop to eat dinner to the point where we ended up breaking the dance floor. I decided to skip the cutting of my wedding cake because I did not want to stop dancing.

As a wedding/event planner, I have the opportunity to work with a wide range of bands on a regular basis. Starlight Orchestras and their supporting team is one of the most professional, responsive, flexible, client-oriented and talented groups I've ever worked with and I highly recommend them. They did an excellent job of providing the information I needed in a timely manner, were open to requests from both the client and us as the event planner and were always willing to please. The band was incredible: full of energy, great at reading the crowd and responding to what they wanted and they all went above and beyond the whole night (and not just because they played an extra half hour!). I am happy that I have the opportunity to work with them again in September!

Starlight is absolutely amazing! A band can make or break the wedding reception, and leave your guests on cloud 9, or ready to sleep at 9pm, depending on their performance. Therefore, the band was very important to my groom and me when planning the wedding. Starlight did NOT disappoint! They were incredible and kept the crowd on their feet until the bride and groom send-off (an hour after we anticipated because we were all having so much fun), and our guests are still raving about THE band!!! When planning your own wedding, you are forced to think about things and make decisions that have never before crossed your mind. I was concerned about conveying the style of music and type of crowd to the band, but Starlight made the process simple and picked up on our style perfectly! After filtering through their incredible song list, we added specific song requests and even changed the length of our first-dance song last minute…they executed all flawlessly. Also, I requested one popular dance song last minute, but insisted the words “sex” be changed to “love” so that the grandmas would still love us. The electric crowd kept dancing and having a blast, and only the grandmas and I noticed the change that was so perfectly incorporated. Extremely talented, professional, fascinating, electric, beyond entertaining….Starlight is the foolproof choice for an astonishing event.

Starlight was excellent! We had so many people tell us how much they loved the music. You played exactly what we wanted and more. The band made our wedding extra special and so much fun. The singing, instruments and dancing were all amazing.

I remember with clarity the first time I spoke with Valerie Romanoff, it was shortly after I became engaged and not quite far enough into the process to understand what it takes to put on a wedding. I knew as soon as I hung up that night that Starlight was the Orchestra for us! Steve and I met with Valerie and Rebecca which only confirmed what I already knew- we didn't need to see or hear anyone else- we'd found our music. Starlight was clearly going to provide a level of funk, entertainment and kick ass music that we craved. Throughout the planning process Valerie and her team were easily accessible, ready to provide suggestions and assistance and always heard what we had to say. Valerie and the band learned specific songs for our special dances and steered us in the right direction regarding play lists. In the end, our wedding was a blast! Steve and I danced all night- as did the guests- and compliments about the music have not stopped pouring in since. If you're looking for a band- you found the best one out there!

Valerie Romanoff and her talented team at Starlight Orchestras provided a sophisticated, energetic, upbeat and flawless performance at our daughter's wedding at the Mandarin. From our initial interaction with Valerie through the conclusion of a spectacular evening, our experience with this band was flawless. The entire event, from ceremony to reception, was perfectly executed with lots of attention to each single detail. The ceremony featured the impressive talent of Claudia Wigent and her custom ensemble of extraordinary musicians who delivered an unforgettable repertoire of classical pieces including selections by Puccini, Chopin and highlights of our favorite opera music. Our guests were blown away by the outstanding quality of the string ensemble performance. It was magical and set the perfect tone for our daughter and son-in-law's wedding ceremony. For our dinner dance celebration, Valerie and her team learned special latin music to accommodate our request for Spanish songs which made the evening even more personalized and special. The bride and groom love Spanish music and Valerie’s team learned a repertoire of Spanish songs we selected. The performance of the First dance entirely in Spanish was incredible- it sounded just like the original! Valerie and Starlight are uniquely passionate about their music and truly care about their clients. They are in our view the best band in New York. Our guests were impressed and truly enjoyed the amazing sound of this band and raved about the over the top entertainment. It is now two months after the wedding and we are still hearing about how our guests LOVED the band and how the songs sounded exactly the original version. Guests danced nonstop from the beginning to the final seconds and had a truly unforgettable time. Starlight goes above and beyond to deliver the highest caliber entertainment. While I consider myself extremely picky about details I can confidently say that they surpassed our very high expectations.

I have only one word: amazing!!! When my husband and I started looking for bands, our biggest criteria was finding someone who could do the standards but could also sing todays pop hits and sound good doing it. Listening to Laurell's demos blew us away. Her band is beyond talented! The first time we met with Starlight, we spent an hour talking to Laurell. By the time we left, we felt like old friends, and we knew that we would be hiring them, no matter who else we saw. The second time we met with Laurell, she spent half an hour going through all the songs on my husband's iPod and taking notes so that she would know what kind of music he liked and could make sure to play at least in part to his tastes and asking if there were any songs we wanted her band to learn (she did end up learning the song I danced to with my dad specifically for us). She also went through the details of the wedding with us. The next day she sent us a detailed timeline for the wedding with every speech, dance, and event accounted for. We didn't need to wonder if we were forgetting something because she'd already thought of it all. The night of the wedding, Laurell was true to her promise to keep the dance floor packed. Everyone was up and dancing all night long. In fact, I think the only time I saw people sitting was when it was time to eat, and even then, most people skipped the salad course to keep dancing. And the floor was still packed when the reception ended at 1am. Everyone I've spoken to about the wedding has told me how great the band sounded and what an amazing job they did. And the pop hits sounded as good live as they did on her demos. A pricy band, but worth every single penny. Thanks, Laurell. You made our wedding a hit!

valerie and starlight were by far the best decision of the entire wedding process!!!!!!!!! We are so thrilled and people keep telling us that they were the best band they have ever heard. Valerie was so incredible to work with, she took such a personal interest in our night and worked with us to customize the music for our wedding. We had heard all the rave reviews and hired her without even hearing her. She exceeded all expectations! We can't imagine our wedding without her. Every song they played was perfect, it was like a concert! The dance floor was packed the entire night!! We can't wait to have the opportunity to use them again, they are the best!!!!!!!

In 2007 we had Valerie Romanoff and her amazing band at my daughter's wedding at the NY Public Library. They were incredible. From coordinating the ceremony music to the cocktail hour vibe and the unbelievable band at the reception, they exceeded our expectations. When my younger daughter began planning her wedding, our first call was to Valerie. We went to their offices and talked about what my bride, Jennifer and groom Seth, envisioned for their wedding. In an instant, Valerie and her talented team got to work creating exactly what Jennifer wanted. From song selection to customized music, Valerie's team put it all together. They didn't miss a beat! The pre-ceremony music welcomed our guests to New York's Museum of Natural History with a warm style. The ceremony music was exactly what Jennifer chose; contemporary songs with an elegant feel- an amazing harpist and an ensemble that rivals any I could hear at Carnegie Hall. They even went so far as to take Jen's favorite song and learn it perfectly. That was no easy task as the sheet music was unavailable and they had to create the music, practice and learn this unusual Icelandic piece. Our guests couldn't get over the orchestral sound that accompanied my daughter down the aisle. And then there was the party- OMG- they were unbelievable, knowing the right mix of songs, keeping the crowd energized and engaged, making the night flow perfectly with the right balance. My guests all commented that the singers would blow any American Idol off the stage, the musicians were more talented than any they have heard in concert and Valerie's guitar artistry was awesome. The party remained full energy until the last person collapsed on the dance floor. Starlight was everything we could have ever hoped for and more. My only regret- I don't have another wedding to make, might just have to have Starlight come to my house and blow my mind one more time!

Starlight Orchestra went above and beyond to make sure that the music at my wedding was out of this world. They learned countless songs that I requested, some of which didn't have sheet music, and fully embraced some of my quirky and specific music tastes/requests. As a music lover, the band was a huge part of our wedding, and Starlight delivers and have everyone dancing from the moment they entered the venue. Their energy, voices, and musicianship are amazing. We were incredibly involved throughout the whole process and truly appreciated how receptive they were. I would recommend Starlight to anyone and thank them so much for helping make our wedding so special!

We used The New York Players, which are managed by Starlight. They are an AMAZING band. They played a friend's wedding a year before ours and we booked them soon after. They are talented singers but also awesome entertainers, and they set the tone for a great party without being cheesy and with the right balance of elegance and fun. The service Starlight provides is very high quality. They were very organized and attentive throughout the planning process and communicated all the details we requested to the band in a timely manner. The Players are by far the best wedding band I have ever heard, and all our guests agreed - at least three people told me they want to use them for their upcoming weddings.

Sarah Scott's band was absolutely fabulous! They did an amazing job getting the entire crowd on the dance floor all night. My husband and I couldn't even make it around the ballroom to greet our guests, as everyone was dancing! Sarah has a true gift at reading the crowd-she played our top 40 favorites, while making sure that the older people enjoyed their night as well. She was amazing to work with-she guided us through the process and gave us advice along the way. She also fulfilled our last minute requests and made sure that every detail was perfect.

We hired Rebecca Blake's Starlight Orchestra and they made an absolutely amazing and fun party!!!! Everyone danced and danced and danced which is exactly what we'd wanted. They are high energy, super-professional, incredible musicians, and tons and tons of fun. Here's the thing - they basically didn't play anything that we wanted... they said no to most of our requests... they played Gold-Digger at our wedding (um - we want prenups is a surreal and completely inappropriate thing to be chanting at a wedding!)... they played some random song for when the bride (me) was walking down the aisle instead of what I'd asked... they wouldn't learn the very basic piano sheet music that my brother-in-law arranged to accompany my sisters at our wedding... and after all that, we all had an incredible time. My takeaway is that Rebecca Blake and her Starlight Orchestra put on a *GREAT* party - but don't expect them to be particularly accommodating or to really customize their party playlist for you. That being said, you won't be disappointed.

Valerie and her band made the night- I only wish I have more weddings to throw so we can use her again!!! I was looking around and saw how much fun everyone had on the dance floor, they were and are the best.

Valerie and Starlight Orchestras made our wedding! One guest even wanted their autographs afterwards! Another guest said that it felt like a Black Eyed Peas concert! They are amazing professionals who create incredible atmospheres for one of the most special nights in peoples lives. We were so happy with every aspect from planning and organization of details to the original music they made for our ceremony! Valerie and her band are amazing!

Laurell's band was amazing - people went nuts for them and kept telling us that they'd go to hear them perform in concert, wedding or no wedding. It was just perfect. Throughout the honeymoon, we kept hearing songs on the radio and laughing over the fact that Laurell had performed it- but better. I HATE cheesy and predictable wedding bands, and we had none of that. They were terrific.

We had Starlight Orchestra (Rebecca Blake) at our wedding and they were fantastic. We have NEVER heard or seen a wedding band as good as they were at any other wedding. The only complaint I had was we added a extra spanish singer to do Gipsy Kings ect and paid a lot for him and he only did 1 song. Starlights singers voices are so amazing and they look very put together and classy. They were easy to work with and very responsive.
