Roberta was great to work with from the start. We were able to work together even though we were planning from outside of NY. She made it very easy to create our ceremony in a way that met all of our needs. She also calmed our parents down at our rehearsal dinner! The ceremony itself was perfect. My husband and I wanted to have a meaningful and personal ceremony though neither of us are religious. We recently got married 3 months ago and had the most wonderful experience with Roberta. From the get-go she was patient, brought up many sweet ideas for our wedding ceremony, and brought together the ideas of our union with our cultural and religious (Buddhist) backgrounds perfectly. Roberta initially gave us a comprehensive packet with aiding us picking "the asking", our vows, "the ring ceremony", and an additional ceremony i.e. stepping stone ceremony for us and was able to tailor her speech specific and unique to us and our family. A draft was crafted and was reviewed a few times before the final draft is created by Roberta. Her exceptional service and value of her work is truly all we can ask for and would highly recommend her to anyone going through the great endeavors of a wedding.

Roberta was exceptional to work with. She spent nearly two hours meeting with us as we were "interviewing" officiants and was warm and welcoming from the start. The interview worked both ways and she included details from this conversation in our ceremony, which added a lovely personal touch. Roberta is very tech-savvy and communicated with me regularly through e-mail. She was very understanding and flexible (skills derived, I'm sure, from her former career as a professor) with the multiple changes I asked her to make on the final draft of my ceremony. On the day of the wedding, Roberta arrived early to our wedding venue and was flexible (again!) when our Maitre'D asked her to make some changes. She was (again!) tech-savvy and read the ceremony off her kindle (many of my guests commented on how "cool" this was!). Many of my guests were impressed with her speaking abilities and wondered if she was a friend or family member by the way she was able to speak about us as though she'd known us for years. I would highly recommend Roberta as a wedding officiant. I have not one complaint!

Roberta was amazing! We met with three celebrants and she was our favorite from the getgo. Not only is she great at what she does, but she's a great person too, she volunteers at a womens prison in her spare time! Her questionnairre (out of the other celebrants we looked at) was the most complete, and unlike the others she actually had us complete a good portion of it before we met with her so that she would know about us beforehand and could already give us ideas for a ceremony. She reminded us of all the things we had to do (marriage liscence, pick a reading, write vows, etc) and kept us on track. We loved personalizing our ceremony, writing our own vows, and making our wedding ceremony about US and OUR LOVE. We got so many compliments on how beautiful it was and how it was the best ceremony most of our guests ever attended. I also loved that Roberta read the ceremony script from a Kindle! From start to finish, Roberta was an A+.

My ceremony was perfect. Since I am Catholic and my husband is Jewish, we did not know what to expect. She made our ceremony so beautiful. The ceremony was tailored to exactly what we wanted. It was emotive, intelligent, and truly representative of our love. There was not a dry eye in the house. Roberta is not only well versed in wedding traditions, but she spoke from the heart. She delivered her words with such feeling you would think she had known us always. She really listened to us and understoodwhy we wanted to be married and why we love each other. We had an interfaith wedding. I'm Irish Catholic and my husband is Jewish. Dr. Roberta Koepfer did an excellent job officiating our April 17, 2011 wedding. My wife and I wanted to have a complex and highly individualistic ceremony, complete with a string quartet playing on cue during the readings and at certain moments (my wife is a cellist and arranged her own music). We also wanted the mood of the ceremony to be solemn and dignified, but at the same time heartfelt (without being spiritual). We knew that we needed to find an officiant who would act as a partner in making our vision a reality, and in Roberta we found that officiant. She spent a great deal of time getting to know us during our initial meeting, crafted a detailed and very individualized first draft of the ceremony based on that discussion, and then worked with us to polish the ceremony script into exactly what we wanted. When the big day came, almost everything went according to plan. The only hitch was that it was a very windy day, and our unity candle wouldn't light, but Roberta lightened up the mood, and all was well. Our guests, and in particular, our parents, were very impressed with Dr. Koepfer. Most of all, we were very pleased with how the ceremony unfolded, and a lot of the reason why was because of the way Roberta officiated: she was professional and dignified, but at the same time warm and genuine. When Roberta welcomed us into her home to meet us, she spent about an hour getting to know us and how we met. She walked us through a typical ceremony and took her time to make sure she catered our ceremony to our preferences. She drafted the ceremony script promptly and made sure we were on schedule to have a final draft ready prior to our wedding day. We appreciated her flexibility to change her schedule to rehearse the ceremony with us the day before. Our guests responded to the ceremony with warm laughter and everything went smoothly.

From the very beginning, I knew that Dr. Koepfer was someone special. Something just clicked when I first spoke with her on the phone just a couple months after our engagement. Some of those elements might have more significance for my now husband and me, given that we are both physicians, and I, a physician-scientist. Dr. Koepfer is a also a biology professor and a former pre-med advisor. So the fact that she is a scientist who is deeply spiritual really appealed to me. Beyond that, Dr. Koepfer also has a very calm and calming demeanor. She is so warm and personable. She is also very learned and open-minded such that she brought something very special to our ceremony, something that I firmly believe no other celebrant could have done. The process of designing and creating our ceremony was special and memorable in itself. We met with Dr. Koepfer twice to draft and edit our ceremony. And honestly we could carry on talking well beyond matters concerning our ceremonh details. She is responsive and accommodating. And what really touched my husband and I is how well she "got" us. That understanding of us came through clearly in even the very first draft of the ceremony. And of course the actual ceremony itself was wonderful--- absolutely beautiful. So many of our family and friends commented on how special and personal our ceremony was and how warm Dr. koepfer was. She carried out the ceremony in the perfect tone and feel. My husband and I are so happy that Dr. Koepfer was our celebrant and feel very lucky that we found her.

I am both delighted and honored with how much Roberta worked with us to develop such a personalized and thoughtful wedding script. She is magnificent in every way. She was able to incorporate parts Chinese poems that honored my wife's family, and helped me pick a reading among American and English poets that was perfect for my English-teacher father. We were so pleased with the ceremony Roberta wrote for us. Neither my husband nor I are are very religious, and we wanted our ceremony to be spiritual and genuine but not overly sentimental. When we met Roberta, we knew almost immediately we had found the right person (we'd met with 3 other officiants before) - she was very calm, warm, and reassuring in person and during our wedding planning process. And developing a ceremony with her required very little efforts from us (a good thing as last couple of months leading up to our wedding were very hectic). We responded to a questionnaire from her, she wrote a terrific draft that needed only a few tweaks. Rates are very competitive compared to other officiants we met.

My Wife and I thought that Dr.K (Stepping Stone Ceremonies) couldn't have been more helpful accommodating and we really enjoyed her service. Just the thought alone of having Dr.K take care of the most important part of our wedding (our ceremony) put at an ease of mind such that we could have taken care of the rest of our things. From start to finish, Roberta was exactly what we were looking for in an officiant.
