Sweet Basil Catering catered my wedding and I feel like I won the lotto. It was a 2 part cocktail party with savory food first and then desserts afterward, passed and buffet style. Amy was patient, practical and helpful in all the planning. The service was amazing, it's like these guys were clairvoyant and anticipated my every wish, especially Chris, who is an amazing server. The food was impeccable, delicious, I'm still getting compliments and the clean up made everything so easy for our at home wedding. Just lovely.

When we began exploring our options for a caterer in NY we contacted at least thirty caterers for quotes and proposed menus. I was initially impressed by Amy as her price quotes for each category of costs (service, food, rentals etc) were close to or beat any quotes we got from the others. The other caterers were willing to lower their prices to at least match Amys but was so impressed by her upfront honesty in an industry that usually tries to rip off everyone. We were also impressed by her menu suggestions as we tried to incorporate our heritage into the menu (Korean for Bride and Irish for Groom). Upon meeting Amy we were only impressed further. She had a settling sense of calm that immediately put us at ease given our extremely limited knowledge of what was required. As we gave her an idea of what we were looking to and our budget she assured us that she would be able to take care of everything (food, drinks, service, rentals, decoration etc) and within our budget. After the meeting she was instantly our favourite so decided to do set up a tasting with her. At this point we met with Amy and Jana (the decorator and assistant coordinator). The tasting went perfectly and we were also excited with Jana's ideas for the decor and decided to go with them. Over the next 7 months in the build up to the big day Amy was very attentive and ensured that a couple small changes (and growing guest list) were easily adapted and we met with her and Jana at the studio loft where both the ceremony and reception would take place. Jana had great plans for the decoration of the loft and insisted that we contact her anytime, day or night, if we had wedding thoughts that we felt we had to discuss with her. The day itself was absolutely perfect. I had always prepared myself with the expectation that nothing could be perfect and something would go wrong, so just hope its not major, I was wrong. Their hard work and professionalism showed on the day. The loft was beautifully decorated which everyone commented on. Jana was also able to prepare gorgeous bouquets and boutonnieres. The food was magnificent (we had a buffet), again everyone commenting how fantastic it was. Despite the having nearly 100 people to prepare food for, both our salmon and beef filet were perfectly cooked. We also had appetizers (which unfortunately we missed) which were said to be delicious and a cupcake cake which was both delicious and beautiful. The entire night passed without a hitch. Jana was always on hand to ensure that we cut the cake at the appropriate time, that everything was going as planned, without once seeming in any way intrusive. We honestly could not have been happier with their contribution to the day and are just thankful of how lucky we were to end up with Amy. We are delighted to have to opportunity to recommend Amy and her team as a thank you for the quality of their work.

Outstanding in every way... Amy and Jana provided the catering and decor for our Flatiron District wedding this past July, and they exceeded all of our expectations. They were professional, creative, flexible and focused on making our day as special as possible. Throughout the planning process, they were excited by the possibilities, and we were excited they were excited. There was never any point where we had second thoughts about our vendor choice, and now looking back, we can honestly say that our trust in them was spot on. The decor for our loft space was phenomenal, simple yet stunning, the floral arrangements including the wedding bouquet were creative, unique and beautifully executed, the food was excellent (actually much better than the tasting) and their service staff was professional, friendly and funny throughout the entire evening. Many of our guests also commented how amazing it all was. In the absence of a rating for "Phenomenal", we're forced to settle for their rating...Exceptional; Highly Recommended
