Jane and I cannot say enough positve things about our entrie four day destination wedding at West Point and The Thayer Hotel. This was a destination wedding for almost all of our guests who started to arrive on Thursday before the Saturday wedding due to their desire to see "The Point" as well as staying at The Thayer. The professional staff, represented by Stacey Jones as our event planner, went above and beyond to make our day truly special. Their collective attention to detail was incredible, coupled with unbelieveably great food and views of The Hudson (along with great weather) made the entire experience "over the top. Our many friends, family and co-workers raved about their entire very positive experience. Highly recommended as you will not be disappointed.

I would highly recommend The Thayer Hotel at West Point for any of your celebratory needs, especially a wedding. My now husband and I looked at one other venue prior to looking at The Thayer. Growing up in the Hudson Valley is what made us want a venue where we could get married outside, with a Hudson River view. This hotel is historical, classy and well kept. Lexi was our dedicated sales manager. I can only say the exact opposite of what the previous review said about her. She was always there for me. Almost anything I wanted, we could have. My vendors had only wonderful things to say about her and the rest of the staff. I did deal with Stacey a handful of times and she was very nice and attentive as well. Lexi made me feel so comfortable. She was very professional and responsive at all times. Our wedding was a breathtaking and unforgettable event for all. The day ran smoothly because of the staff at The Thayer. We stayed there the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding. We had booked two executive suites, which were perfect for getting ready with our groomsmen and bridesmaids. Not to mention the makeup artist and hair dressers having plenty of room to make us beautiful. Breakfast was delivered to our rooms in the morning along with mimosas. The staff also helped us load and unload everything. There is valet parking, an indoor and outdoor roof top bar and lounge for pre and post cocktails. The guests that stayed overnight were also able to enjoy the famous Sunday brunch the morning after the wedding. This venue had it all and I wouldn’t change one thing.

I got married at The Thayer Hotel on July 21, 2012. The hotel was pretty much my first vendor so I worked with them for 14 months before the wedding. The venue had everything we were looking for. The day turned out amazing - the staff was wonderful. They created a lot of food stations they don't normally do for our cocktail hour, and while they charged extra, they did it with a smile. I do have to warn brides about a catering manager in the office, though. We were working with Lexi until about a month before the wedding. My husband and I were not too thrilled with her in the beginning. I also realized very quickly that she didn't carry her promises through, so I learned to only communicate through email with her. About a month before the wedding, I found out about a few things that I wish I had known/I felt as though she had plenty of opportunity to at least mention. For example, that another wedding was using my ceremony space up until 1 hour prior to my ceremony (we had been told up and down that we were the only wedding that weekend), thus not allowing the florists to decorate as we thought; she told me she had no idea why all the hotel rooms were booked when the reason was that there was another wedding going on; she told us we'd have to pay an extra $400 per her beverage manager to provide mint at the bar in case our guests wanted a mojito - we found out later that the bar always has mint and we wouldn't have to pay the money. When the smoke cleared, I asked for a new coordinator, Stacey, who went above and beyond, on top of being sweet and patient (and she was in charge of the other wedding that day too, but she did it all with a smile - unlike Lexi, who never smiled). I would advise every bride to STEER CLEAR of Lexi, but know that once you do, the hotel will definitely take care of your wedding.

> Thank you for your review and we are happy to hear that you highly recommend us! During the time your contract was signed and the execution of the actual wedding, the hotel went through some very large Management changes which may have altered some of the item prices in which you had inquired about during the process of planning and we believe this is what took place with your request for mojitos. Since we are a hotel and have many different banquet rooms available, there is always a possibility that another event or possibly a wedding could take place on the same day around the same time as yours. We are sorry if this was not explained to you at the time of your booking and we have taken care of the situation. Though you may not have "clicked" with your first Catering Manager, we are very happy to hear that you were able to with the second one as we know that it is very important to like or even love working with your Catering Manager.

We had our wedding here in July & everything was great, aside from the lack of air conditioning. The reception hall was extremely hot & it felt like there was no ac on at all. My guest were all sweating through their clothes & some ended up changing into comfortable clothes before the night was over. We asked more than once about fixing the temperature in the room & were told there was nothing more they could do because the air was already on high. Aside from the problem with the air, everything else was great!

The sales and catering staff at West Point made our wedding reception amazing! Stacey Jones allowed me to feel 100% stress free the day of our wedding. Being an out of town bride, she was responsive to all my questions and the week of she was very flexible being able to meet with me in between various events. Due to other events occurring in our room the day of, Stacey and her team decorated our room and when I saw the space it was more then I could have imagined. My husband, an alumni of West Point, also appreciated that they changed the flags back to the original 13 colony flags. It meant a lot to him. All our guests raved about the food and said they had the best time. The only area we felt needed improvement was the organization of rooms at the front desk. Another amazing employee we are thankful for is Sandy, who works in McArthur's restaurant. I lost my grandmother's earring that night and her relentless drive allowed me to get my family heirloom back after she searched for two weeks and found it in a bag of garbage. The wait staff working our event as well as people like Stacey, Carly and Sandy made our day memorable and one we will never forget!

Stacy Jones waw the absolute best to work with. I was an out of state bride in California and was so happy with her extreme professionalism and helpfulness to all my questions and to keeping track of all details needed to make the wedding ceremony and reception go absolutely smooth. Everything was in place as we had discussed, and she helped direct things at the rehearsal and even morning of the wedding to make the wedding go off perfectly. She's very pleasant and easy to work with. I am so grateful to have had a person like her to make sure my wedding day went as planned. And as far as The Thayer Hotel, it was absolutely a perfect venue. The outdoor ceremony had such a fantastic view of the Hudson River. The reception also had a gorgeous view overlooking the river. The food was fantastic. My guests mentioned how the cocktail hour food was good, and very plentiful, and the reception had delicious food. I was also happy with the cake vendor that they use, and I also was very happy with the DJ on their list of recommended vendors (Tom Destry). I used an outside vendor for the florist (Angel Wedding Works) and they were great. I rented an arch from them which they decorated beautifully, and with the stunning view of the Hudson River as a backdrop, you can't beat this utterly amazing setting. We loved our whole day and couldn't have been happier with The Thayer Hotel.

The Thayer Hotel couldn't have been a better venue to get married. The setting was beautiful and the staff provided all the help/assistance possible to make out wedding day beautiful. I would highly recommend this location (and our catering manager, Lexi) to others. Amazing experience and memories.

The Thayer Hotel provided a beautiful venue for the Rehearsal dinner and the Bridal Brunch for our departing guests on Sunday morning. Lexi Casalino, the senior catering manager, coordinated everything perfectly. We worked together blocking hotel rooms, choosing the menus, and reserving the bridal suite. Even when the blocked rooms had been filled, Lexi contacted me and opened up more rooms for additional guests. She always responded to phone calls and emails quickly and, during the wedding weekend, she was always available to make sure that the Eisenhower Room looked perfect and that the Audio-Visual equipment was working correctly for the slide-show my son had prepared for the Rehearsal Dinner. I cannot praise the elegant Thayer Hotel highly enough. The accommodations were beautiful and the staff was kind and helpful. Even the new ZuluTime Lounge on the veranda overlooking the Hudson River provided additional opportunities to relax with guests. It was the perfect venue for my son's wedding.

We had our wedding at the Thayer hotel in the hudson valley, even though we live in NYC. It was an amazingly beautiful location. We wanted a beautiful back drop so that we didn't have to decorate that much. The views of the river and cliffs are spectacular and the floor to ceiling windows really bring the outdoors inside. We also really liked the castle like look as well. We were married in the ballroom which is all white wood and very traditional looking with high ceilings which made beautiful pictures. It was also great that it is a hotel because we got more time with our guests and very few people had to drive elsewhere after the reception. The food was fantastic and the portions were generous. People loved the food. The cake bakery they work with was fantastic. We actually ate the top layer of our cake when we got back from our honeymoon; we're just going to get another fresh one next year because we loved it so much. Lexi at the Thayer was our venue coordinator and she was a joy to work with. I have no idea how she answered all of ny detailed emails given how many weddings they have there. We did think it was a tad expensive once all the linens and details were added in, but I think that's probably typical. It is a value given it's quality, service, and atmosphere. We looked at a lot of places in the Hudson and this was by far the best for us.

I did not actually have my ceremony at the Thayer hotel (my husband graduated from West Point and so the ceremony was at The Cadet Chapel), but we did have the reception there. Lexi was our sales manager, wedding planning, make it work super woman. I had to plan the wedding in 4 months because that is when my husband had leave time (the only time we knew for sure he could show up to our wedding). She negotiated a slightly lower rate to meet our budget which included a wine and beer open bar, wedding cake, and bridal suite for the wedding night. She even negotiated a moderate price per night for any wedding guests staying at the hotel. Because my husbad was in training, we did not have much flexibility to go to tastings. No problem! Lexi arranged the tasting and even ordered the cake samples to the hotel from their bakery partner so we could do it all in one day (which was during their crazy Christmas season). And it was not just a little tasting---we left full! When my guarenteed number of people changed because the Army doesn't care if you've already RSVPed for your friend's wedding, Lexi allowed us to adjust the guarentee (and you just don't find that kind of ethical, understanding practice in business often). On the day of, I was surrounded by staff who made everything super easy (they even kept track of my purse and ran for safety pins when my groom stepped on my train). Even the restaurant staff (especially Amy, Larry, and Dino the manager of MacArthur's) was a pleasure to work with for our small and simple rehearsal dinner (although the all-out fancy option was also available). The bill was not cheap at $115 a head plus tax and gratuity for our pretty traditional, military wedding. However, for the quality of service and in addition, the quality of people that so beautifully facilitated my wedding day, I would most certainly recommend this fantastic venue.

We were married on October 15, 2011 and couldn't be any happier with the staff. All of our guests said that they had a great time at the wedding and itw was so unique to have a wedding reception at West Point. We met with Lexi, the wedding planner, numerous times and she answered all of our questions and make sure to address all of our concerns. The wedding went very smoothly and it was very organized. After the wedding, the staff brought all of our gifts up to our room, which was a beautiful suite with amazing views. After our wedding everyone went up to the rooftop bar and continued the party. We couldn't ask for a better wedding!

Our Experience with the Thayer was beyond anything you could imagine. The service was absolutely first class. Lexi and Amy truly created the stage for the memories that we will have for a lifetime. They went above and beyond our every request they made us feel like we were their only concern ( while handling 7 other weddings the same weekend). Our bridal suite was just amazing, the food was wonderful, everything was just seamless and we couldn't have ask for more. If you are considering a venue don't hesitate to choose The Thayer. You can put your mind at eases even when planning from several states away they will create your dream come true. I also would highly recommend the Salon on the Hudson located at The Thayer they did a beautiful job on my hair the day of the wedding. Thank you to all the wonderful staff from the bottom of our hearts. Jill and Matt Zacher

Stacey was a dream to work with! She went above and beyond filling all of our requests. She even helped us plan a breakfast the next morning. There were absolutely no suprises on the big day. Not only was Stacey a fantastic event planner, the whole rest of The Thayer team was exceptional. The whole event was incredibly well done, and I am still having people contact to tell me what a great time and great food they had! Everything I wanted was done, there was clear planning a head of time and such a fine attention to detail! We had a great time on our big day and would reccomend The Thayer to anyone!

We didn't want a long, drawn-out wedding planning time, so I was delighted when I learned that the Thayer would be able to accomodate our wedding just 3 weeks out (and on a very busy home football game morning)! Their excellent staff made it easy to pull everything together very quickly, and our event was more than I could have ever hoped for. All of our guests were very impressed with the beautiful setting and superb brunch buffett, and I would highly recommend this venue to anyone wanting to get married at West Point.

Our wedding reception was at the Thayer hotel and was wonderful. We started with happy hour that included an indoor room and a covered outdoor area, in addition to the manicured lawn. Our guests loved being able to walk near the water. The passed appetizers and carving station were very well received, and we had guests surprised there was still a full dinner after all the appetizers. Stacey was amazing, and made sure everything was exactly as we wished. Dinner was better than at the tasting. We had salmon and chicken options, and both were very well received. The only negative at all was that the ballroom got very, very warm when everyone was up and dancing. Fortunately we had the outdoor space, but it was still hot. Also, I would not suggest more than 200 guests in the large ballroom for a seated dinner - we had about 170 and that seemed full to me.

Even if you are not West Point Alum...if you want your wedding to be different and memorable, the Thayer is the place for you. We had our weekend wedding there this March and it was not only amazing for us - but a wedding to remember. Our guests are still raving about the food and the hotel and the service!!! You cannot find nicer or more accommodating people. Emily was a great help in planning every detail with me and she was super responsive. Amy was amazing on the big day and made us feel like family!!! We LOVE the Thayer and plan to go back at least once every year!!!! I am sure everyone feels like their day was amazing but ours truly was. We could not have imagined anything better.

The Thayer Hotel is a beautiful venue to host any party/wedding. The hotel was very accommodating to our guest. The rooms were lovely and clean. Housekeeping and the front desk were very helpful. The bridal suit (237) was absolutely amazing and perfect for our wedding night. For the reception, the Thayer catering was flawless. Everything from the ho’durves, to the fillet was wonderful! The cake from the Pastry Garden was perfect! It looked beautiful and tasted SO good! The open bar worked perfectly with no lines. We couldn’t of asked for anything better. It was pleasure to work with Danielle! Her professional demeanor, friendliness, and attention to detail made it possible to have such an amazing day. Even when we were in tough spots with planning some details, she was flexible and accommodating. We were able to work with her from a distance (Texas and Singapore!) planning our wedding reception. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we would recommend this venue and its services to anyone looking to have that perfect West Point wedding!
