We are more than happy that we chose Vanderbilt to have our wedding reception. Every feedback we hear from our guests is that food was awesome, the place looked gorgeous, and everyone was impressed. They also enjoyed taking photos in the beautiful outdoor garden & on the romantic boardwalk. During the preparation stage, the sales manager Sal and his assistants were very responsive to my emails and very accommodating to our requests. Sal even called me proactively several times to discuss things in details. On the wedding day, Sal stayed until everything was set up and ready. I have heard that the sales managers don’t always show up on the wedding day, so we truly appreciated Sal’s follow-through and professionalism! We loved (very much) everything set up by our Maitre’D Ardit and Nick & their crew - the cocktail hour, the reception and even the chocolate fountain at dessert hour. I just left it all with them and didn’t need to worry about a thing, and everything turned out to be above and beyond expectation. And I have to give high praise and thanks to my bridal attendant Brittany. She was with me ALL night, and was super attentive. She served us drinks & food, and held the long trail of my wedding gown when I walked around, and smoothed the trail and my floor-length veil before I entered the reception. I cannot say enough of how thankful I was to have her! Thanks Vanderbilt for giving us such a pleasant memory of our special day. We’d highly recommend it to every future couple!

great food, service and ambiance

I just had my wedding at the Vanderbilt and it was everything I could have hoped for. Sal was awesome to work with, as well as his assitants Bridget and Brittany. Everyone was super communicative and friendly. The food was OUTSTANDING. Everyone is still complementing me! The venue itself is gorgeous, with awesome views. The service was white glove and beyond. Susan, my bridal attendant was fantastic. She made sure I had the most perfect day/night. My parents, family and every guest was well attended to and made to feel like they could get anything they wanted, and they did! The staff is great, the venue is gorgeous, the food is amazing and the memories made here are priceless! Thank you Vanderbilt!

We had our wedding at The Vanderbilt on January 28th 2012. Our wedding planner was Sal. He was amazing. We originally had our wedding planned for July 2012, but due to some family issues, we decided to move the wedding up to January 2012. Sal made this change for us without any issues. He worked with us to create a wedding menu & package that would impress our guests but also stay within our budget. We had around 300 people at our wedding. The entire hall was ours. I never made it to my cocktail hour, since I was upstairs in the bridal suite, but I heard it was amazing! We had several different stations, from Italian to American... I even requested a Greek station, since it is my favorite type of food & the chef took care of it with no issues. We had everything from a raw bar to gyros to pasta stations to fresh mozzarella to a signature cocktail! We were able to choose our main menu from an array of options & the chef also included an extra dish for the main course for us! The food was excellent & there was definitely no shortage of food all night! We had a dessert hour in a separate room which was also to die for. The hall was set up beautifully. Our only issue was that the day of our wedding, we really wanted to take our photographs in the main room, as we had an extremely large bridal party... over 30 people. The maitre de would not let us into the room because it was not completely set up yet. My husband almost had an argument with her on the day of our wedding. She really should have been more accommodating. We had to take our pictures in the main hallway, and guests started arriving before we were finished. I was unable to take a lot of the shots I wanted. Other than this, which could be easily rectified, I would highly recommend the Vanderbilt as a wedding hall.

The staff and wedding coordinator at the Vanderbilt worked above and beyond my expectations. Up until the day of the there was constant communication and great rapport between the wedding coordinator Margaret and her Assistant Elsie and assisted me in every aspect of this memorable day. Their service, courtesy and overall performance was just outstanding and I will be forever grateful for all they have done to make sure my big day went without flaw.

The Vanderbilt at South Beach was amazing! The cocktail hour was phenomenal. The dinner was exquisite. The dessert hour was unbelievable. Our guests were constantly telling us how awesome the food was and how it was the best wedding they have ever attended. We also had a martini bar that was a big hit with our guests. It was six hours of amazing food, drinks and superior service. The Vanderbilt made our wedding a dream come true.

The Vanderbilt is, in our opinion the best place to have your wedding if you get married on Staten Island. It's classy, is on the boardwalk facing the water and Verrazanno Bridge, the service is wonderful, and the food is delicious. Our cake was includeed in the price and they have a great selection to choose from. Their linens, chairs, tables, and silverware were lovely, too.We couldn't have asked for more! Please note- We did not use the hall for our ceremony, since it was at a church, but for the reception, but there was not a separate choice for the reception.

The Vanderbilt was not only beautiful they were very easy to work with. The location is great - right on the beach in Staten Island. The inside is lined tastefully with marble. The grand staircase is gorgeous - talk about making an appearance. They were very flexible with the way I wanted to use their venue and allowed me to get an outside caterer. The bridal suite was beautiful. I cant say enough great things about this venue. I highly recommend it!

Overall, I was very happy with this venue and with the service we received from Sal, the manager. The hall is beautiful and the setting on the boardwalk is lovely. We used the caterers only for the cocktail hour but the food was excellent. They really allowed us to customize our event and did not force us to use a 'cookie cutter' formula as many other venues require. This made our day, truly ours.
