Reverend Shobha exceeded our expectations for our wedding ceremony. Our wedding group also commented on how beautiful the ceremony was performed. She was very personable and worked with us to meet all of our needs. She contributed greatly to our memories of that day and my husband and I highly recommend her if you are planning your wedding - you won't be disappointed.

Reverend Shobha Hughes is amazing. She took the time to get to know us and understand what we wanted for our wedding. She is compasionate, sincere, and added a beauty to our wedding ceremony that we could have only hoped for. It was New Years Day, outside in cold weather and she carried the warmth into the ceremony. Shobha was the best officant we could have asked for. Every guest kept telling us what a great ceremony we had and how good was our officiant. Our parents came from other countries so she learned how to say "welcome" in their native language. She was great at acknowledging our guests, providing us with options for our vows, ring exchange words, readings and all kind of traditions you might wish for. We did not have to do any other work related to the ceremony, she had it all figured out.

Shobha is an amazing, warm and spiritual person who married us in central park with such a beautiful service - I would recommend her to everyone. Her words were so emotional and so in-tune with our beliefs, she really takes the time to get to know you as a couple. The wedding was absolutely beautiful because Shobha took us both by the hand literally and lead us through all the ins and outs including the address of where to get our marriage license! Our wedding was exactly the way we requested with such valuable input on sacred and not so sacred texts with wonderful quotes as well. First and foremost i would like to say how warm and comfortable she made my spouse and i feel. She was the first and last officiant that we sat down with for our wedding. After we met with her we didn't want to interview any other officant to do the job. We felt comfortable. shobha brings a strong spiritual bond from the first day you meet her. We felt as if we knew her all our lives. She is willing to listen and give feedback to make your special day a phenomenal one. The way she wrote out the ceremony showed us how much she paid attention to what was important to us by including it in. She was very professional, honest, warm, encouraging and very creative. You will not find a better officiant in NYC than Rev. Hughes. She takes the time to get to know you so that your wedding is not just a ceremony, but instead is a precious memory celebrating your love for each other. After your wedding, Rev Hughes continues to follow-up, making sure you receive license and all your needs are met. An extra bonus is that her husband is a photographer and we received a CD of our pictures before we left town.

We had never met Reverand Shobha before, but she tailored the ceremony to our lives and made it very personal. She asked us a lot of questions to determine what we would like at this very special time in our lives, and tailored the ceremony to fit our individual tastes! She even included our children in the ceremony, which was very important to us. She not just conducted a wedding ceremony-but enhanced our experience through her personalization of our family! It was important to us that this be a family experience, and she did a great job with the whole experience. We were very appreciative of the extra steps that she took-including providing an opportunity for us to have photographs taken. Coming from Texas and not knowing anyone, or anybody, Reverand Shobha helped make this experience one that we will never forget! We were married at central park on June 24th by reverend Shoba Hughes. She showed us a few different locations to have our wedding one being too crowded and the other under a magnificent tree located in central park, the location was perfect! The ceremony was beautiful, she put her own personal touches into it which meant a lot to the both of us. We had an amazing day with an amazing woman. Our day was perfect and we will never forget it. When we decided to get married in New York, we initially did not know where to turn to find someone to give us the private and intimate service that we wanted. Fortunately we contacted Shobha by e-mail and were delighted when we received a phone call from her. All of the other officiants only e-mailed us and it was immediately obvious on talking to her that she was the perfect minister for our needs. In the weeks leading up to the ceremony the contact with Shobha was excellent and she explored our needs and wishes making helpful suggestions where appropriate, but never trying to take over our plans. It was great to know that if we had a question it would be answered swiftly and we always felt that our special day was being given the consideration we would have wanted. On our wedding day, everything went according to plan. It was a lovely ceremony, tailored according to our wishes and held in a beautiful location in Central Park. It was everything we could have wished for and exceeded our expectations. Shobha’s husband, Chris happens to be an events photographer and took some lovely photos of our special occasion.
